Dealer vs Pep Boys...

Okay I am just wondering what eveyrone gets done at the dealer compared to a place like Pep Boyz or AutoZone?

I usually get the oil changes done at Pep Boys and Tire Rotatation Suspension Work done at a Sears Auto Center.

But because of the transmission thingy...i am going to the dealer.

What can Pep Boyz do or not do that dealer can or cannot?

stuff under the warranty your acura warranty...
but they can do everything else the dealership can...better and cheaper.

btw- im actually thinking about doing my 75,000mi service at a Quaker State place where i've done 95% of my oil changes...its going to cost me a bit less than 1/3 of what the dealer wants.

Fluid changes on my own, mechanical modifications on my own, warranty work at the dealer for free, tire rotation for free at CostCo. I hate paying labor.

Head over to Pep Boys for Oil changes and tire rotations. They really train thier techs well there and I trust them.
Oh, and by the way...this whole month they are running a really nice special....Oil changed in a 1/2 hour, or it is FREE. This includes all oil changes. (read; FREE SYNTHETIC OIL CHANGE)

I actually went there yesterday in the middle of what was left of Hurrican Ivann..to do my tire rotation and brake/suspension inspection. They were actually professional compared to this stupid express lube place.

has anyone done the tranny fluid change and tranny fluid filter change at PEP boys with our TLs?

I just started doing my own synthetic oil changes
I don't know how to do a transmission fluid change or when to do it so I need to go find out how to do that on my own.

Pep Boyz I like better for rotations and alignments and other things I can't do.
The Dealership I go too kind of belittles you and talks to you like your a kid, if your under 30.
Sears auto center, MAN I used to work for sears and I think they SUCK! Then again it might have only been the one near me.

Yeah, I got a free synthetic oil change ($45~), but I don't know if the 2 hours and 30 minutes was worth the wait.

Yeah, they seriously have some issues dealing with younger customers.

tire rotations I do on my own, mainly because I swap my tires every other season. Oil changes depends on how busy I am with work. Sometimes I'll go to STS or if I can, hold and complain about something and make them give me an oil change for free.

Here is what is costs for oil changes here in Canada at the dealer. $39.99 Cdn. Is that a deal?
If I wanted to use Synthetic...i have to bring my own oil and they bring it down to $24.99 Cdn. Before taxes.
