Dealer Service VS ?

What do you guys recommend is a subsitute for Dealer service and without losing quality of work.

I have a 99tl with 50995 miles, needed a tune up so I decided to get a full tune up (60000 mile service) Us New Yorkers because of the severe driving conditions have to baby our cars so I did my 60000 mile service early.

Now the reason for my post.

60000mile tune up cost $445
+ addit'l fuel inj. cleaning $250

Totaling $695 before tax

They gave me a discount and charged me $639.91 after tax for both.

The service At ACURA OF VALLEY STREAM is good, but could I have gotton the same type of service somewhere else without the high price.

I have checked pep boys $301.88
& Strauss $462.45 who does the same work acura does.

So if you see what I am getting at from &301.88 to $639.91.
I know you get what you pay for but damn!!!

Should I have just gone to Pep Boys or what do you guys recommend?

I have attached what work acura does in the pic.

I would only trust Acura with the maintenance of our cars. Try to find another dealer that might have a lower price for the 60k service.

P.S. $250 for fuel injector cleaner? Go to Pepboys and buy it yourself for $15-$20.

I guess the question is HOW did they clean the injectors? Did they put a $6 bottle of cleaner in or did they physically clean them? And what did the competition pricing include? Either way, the dealer is usually more expensive for everything and anything

does anything happen to our warrantys, if we get the work done somewhere else or we choose not to get certain work done because we can do quite a few things ourselves @ a 10th of the price?

Concering the feul inj. They do a complete fuel inj. They hook up the fuel inj. to a machine that clean the heads. They clean the fuel lines and they add something to the gas tank.

For a complete fuel inj cleaning at pep boys is $139.
I just came from there today.

I checked the prices at all of the dealers in the NYC area and Aruca of Valley Stream is the lowest.

But no one has answered my ques.!!!!!

What do you guys recommend is a subsitute for Dealer service and without losing quality of work?
