I've been having this rattling sound coming from the inside of the center dash for few weeks now. It is only there when the car is in motion going over bumps. The larger the bumps the louder the sound gets, to the point where it is audible even when the music is quite loud.

Today, I've decided to take the car in to the dealer and have them checked it out. They found out that there was a plug located behind the center vent that was loose. They taped it and now it's rattle free.

Also, I had them to check the moonroof and they had applied the noise reduction teflon tape.

The car is now as good as new.

BTW, they reached to the plug by removing the passenger air bag and glove box rather than removing the whole dash.

I have that same rattle coming from behind the center vent. I just had my car at the dealer this past week and they decided that they would replace the entire dash piece. They had to order the part.
