Exclamation DANGER: Fog re-wire -> fix it now!!!

If you re-wired your fog light like that in the FAQ, this is a potential problem that could burn your car. Fix it now before it's too late. Click on the link below to a message which discuss more details of the problem and the solution. If you have seen it already, please pardon me for the repeat. I just wanted to make sure everyone who've done the original mod see this.

See my follow-up post in the thread link above. The original fog light re-wire mod is perfectly safe.

yah pianomans explanation definitely sounds right. putting 5 20amp fuses in a row doesnt make it a 100amp.

I used one of the ones from a member which is similar to the FAQ and I've been fine for over a year and a half.....

Let me put this in leaman's terms... if it burns, it burns...that's what insurance is for! Just make sure you evacuate the car and watch from a distance.

And if you're lucky enough to park your burning car in your garage before it burns, there goes your precious house and probably your family's lives too !!!

I have a problem with my fog light mod. When I lock/unlock the doors and the lights blink, the headlights now blink as well as the parking and fogs. Thats fine but the right headlight doesn't blink like the left. It looks like its having a harder time turning on than the other one. When I hit unlock with the headlights left on, they turn on fine. Just fcked up when they blink.

Bro do you normally leave your car running or off with the lights on in the garage? If there is no power running through the wires there should be no fire b/c there would be no spark even if the wires melted through.

I wouldn't worry about this mod. If you recall my 99 accord and my 00 sliver one. I did the same mod for both.... Of course my 99 was only around a yr before my friend totalled it but my 00 had the mod for 3yrs without a problem.
As for the right headlight acting different i haven't noticed that.

The headlights blink becasue you probably left the headlights on, If they are left in the off position, they wont blink.

The passenger side looks a little weird because the HIDs are not drawing enough juice to light up completely.

P.S. i would leave the headlights off as having the HID ballasts blink repeatedly is not a good thing, and can shorten their lifespans.
