Cylinder misfire followed by Transmission failure. Related????
Hello Everyone,
Great forum stumbled up on it from Google.
Almost immediately registered and here is my first post.
I own TL01, bought new, driven for 63000 miles. Couple of months back observed an engine check light as well as TCS light ON. Took the vehicle to the dealer, Mechanic reset the code and asked me to comeback if the light comes ON again.
It did come back on again, this time Dealer accepted the car for service and I was told that there was a cylinder (2) misfire and repaired the car by charging about $150.
Forgive my ignorance, I don’t really remember what they repaired or replaced.
After driving the vehicle for 1000 more miles, I got in to the trouble again. This time, mechanic identifies it as a transmission problem. I was given a loaner car and told me that they call me as soon as repairing is done.
I am wondering earlier failure, cylinder misfire, is at all related to later problem with transmission?
If yes, I am thinking about asking for reimburse the amount I paid for the earlier repair.

To further help you with this i think u need to find your service records and see what they did to fix the misfire, if it was something spark plug related then it definitely shouldnt have anything to do with the tranny.
