Hi all,
My first post.
I'm pricing the 03 TLS and TL in Ann Arbor Michigan. The dealer so far has quoted the current commercial. The current lease deal is $999 down (Which comes to $2081 after the first month, security deposit, and random fees etc.) The TL will lease for $329/mo +tax. Michigan sales tax is 6% which makes the total monthly payment $349.
The same bank fees, tax and such makes the TLS $394/mo after that same downpayment.
It appears that others have done a bit better prior to this "clearance special".
Any suggestions? Thank you

Yesterday I bought a 2003 TL-S (white diamond pearl, no navi) for $29,100 plus taxes, tag, and $245 processing fee. This was the best price I could find in the DC area. The same car with nav would have been $31,200. My dealer is Karen Radley Acura in Woodbridge. Pohanka in Chantilly offer the same price without a processing fee, but the salesman was a jerk (spent all his time low-rating the other cars I was looking at).
As I shopped around over the past month I also noticed that the selection of 2003 models is dropping quickly. Not too many type S left, and white, silver, black seem to be only colors still on the lots (well, there were a couple of anthracites and a few blue ones).
The 2.9 financing is the only incentive, but it's a good deal -- simple interest (according to the salesman), with no pre-payment penalty. So you could actually go for a 60 month loan to keep your monthly obligation low and plan to pay it off early.

cjfairman- if youre interested in leasing, thats an excellent offer. i wanted mine pretty badly and they had the ABP in stock so i pulled the trigger at $1700 down, $399/mo ($430 w tax)... i shouldve waited a little longer.

Thanks Gixx
I guess my question is more along the lines of can the dealer do better than the nationally advertised offer? And ...when I read the fine print on the commercial last night during the golf match I read the total due at signing was $1600 something and my dealer calculated $2081. Our plates are only $153 here so is he charging some misc...fees?
and is there room for a better deal?
When I use the internet lease calculators it appears that they are pricing this about 2000 over invoice. In fact he quoted me a cash price, should I choose not to lease of $28414 for a TL and $30619 for a TLS. !!! These may have been attractive prices a year ago, but it seems a little pricey for a car being replaced in a month. I feel like I'd be crazy to pay anything over invoice for a car at the end of it's production run. With factory incentives even $500 under invoice seems reasonable. Is this car in that much demand that the dealers can still mark them up this way or am I getting worked over by the dealer? Has anyone purchased a TL or TLS under the nationally advertised clearance? or done better than the clearance?
Please share with the newbie. I want to join the TL club soon
Thanks

I will see what I can do. I'll let you know how it turns out. I just can't believe they are still $2000 over invoice when the car is ending its production run next month. I'm going to cold call a few more dealers in the area and see what happens.
Thanks

Im looking to get an 02-03, but if the lot doesn't have an ABP with nav, can they still "order/build" one or will I be looking for used? Anyone know when the 03's are officially unavailable anymore?

My dealer says they are still building them for a month. But... who knows he also told me there is very little margin and they are in short supply (therefore I should not haggle I guess and just hand him sticker price..yeah right) Just telling you I think you could still order one for a month or so.

Well, my salesman says no ordering because they're close to stopping ther American production line. According to him, 2004 models are being built in Japan. Then again, another salesman told me all MB C-class cars are built in Mexico (!). [Yes, I know sound cars are built in Mexico, but MB C-classes are manufactured in Germany, South Africa, or Alabama].
I suspect that dealers are still trying to make profits on '03 TL models because the cars are drying up and a bunch of us have been out there buying them.
