Thumbs down Crappy touch-up paint

man, I just got some of it from Acura today, and all I can say is it sucks!

It's way too runny, and is also translucent to the point where a couple coats of it still let the dark primer show through on a small chip I touched up. I'm gonna take it off and touch up w/ my mazda paint, which doesn't have this problem.

Oh, yeah - it was for White Diamond Pearl paint, and yes, I shook it up good and verified that it was the correct paint that matched the paint code for the car. I'm going to try to get a refund, even though it was like only five bucks.

I experienced the same problem when I tried to use Acura touchup paint on my WDP.

What I did was I went to PepBoys and bought a generic brand of off-white touchup paint and use it as a base coat and then used the Acura paint as a top coat only. Works pretty good.

I think Acura needs to sell 2-step touchup paint like the ones that BMW uses for its metallic paints.

Yeah, mine is a different shade, and the metallic settles much too easily.

I tried the Acura touch up paint on my Satin Silver TL and hated it too. I couldn't use it on the door because it just would not look right. I used it on a couple spots on the front and rear bumber and it came out GREAT! I gave the spot on the door about 6 attempts and gave up. I'll get someone else to do it if it really starts to bother me.

Yeah, I got some chips in my Mugen grill I want to touch up. Crappy paint I got from the dealer just made it more noticeable! Going to try this stuff and see how it is then.

I agree with everybody on this topic. The Acura touch-up paint really sucks. I wanted to cover up some scratches on my Nighthawk Black paint and it did nothing.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.

My satin silver touch up paint is runny and light too.. you need like 5 coats to fully cover a blemish on the bumper..
