Cracked my fog light lens

Cracked my fog light lens
OK, it was statistically inevitable. I was wiping down my 6100-mile 02 TL-S today (as I do every day) when I noticed a big fat crack in the driver's side fog lens and a chip on the bumper right where the rock hit.
Sigh... time to go to the parts dept. I guess. I don't suppose this is covered under warranty.

time to get X-pel lens protectors so the next ones won't crack.
They have a 4 year $1000 coverage during which they will pay for replacement light and shipping.

Hey Daverman, if you are going to be that anal about dings to your bumper, which is inevitable, I suggest you get the full bra, because fixing the bumper now will be a waste of time, as it will only get damaged again, especially by those f***** gravel trucks.

Having installed a mix of the X-pel, Armor Guard and Custom cut pieecs on my car, I would suggest not getting the X-pel kit at all unless you are just doing the lights. If you are getting a kit get the Armor Guard kit which goes from wheel well to wheel well on the front bumper as opposed to the X-pel which only covers the front most part of the bumper. Also the Armor Guard wraps around the ends of the body panel also so the edges arento visible like the X-pel. Even better get some custom pieces cut for your car.
The downside of the ArmorGuard is that is only comes up a few inches on the middle of the hood, so i went with a custom cut piece from the place that did my car which came up much higher on the hood, and worked out to be Cheaper than the precut piece. He traced the curve of the precut piece for an S4 and used that. It was not as big a curve as the original Tl-S piece, came up much higher and is much more subtle and less noticeable.
Also if you are paying someone to do it for you, you wont save money buying the kit yourself, buy it through them and it may be cheaper.
Over all I have the X-pel bumper and mirrors, ArmorGuard pieces for the sideview mirror bases, X-pel headlight and foglights, Custom Hood, front lip spoiler, and sideskirts. If I had to do it all over again, I would have gotten the ArmorGuard bumper instead.

Holy Smokes, Batman! I just called Superior Acura's parts dept. and a new fog light housing is $216! Dagnabbit, maybe I can fix the lens myself before it rains.
I know Snook sells just the lens for the foglights for $40, gotta ask him about it.

you should ask the acura dealer for the fog light lens only, not the WHOLE thing. the whole thing cost a lot, but the lens itself is being sold at 45 bucks.
snook sells it for 40 bucks, unfortunately it's in back order nationwide. i tried to get one from snook but they said acura won't be able to provide any until the END of the month, it's a LONG wait.
so i went ahead to my acura dealer and ask if they have any in stock. luckily they have that in stock, but due to the ridiculously high living standard in san jose, they sold it at 60 bucks (DAMNIT). oh well, at least i don't have to wait for so long.
so if i were you i would definitely talk to snook about it and see if they can get it soon, otherwise try the dealer and ask them for just the lens set (actually when you buy, you don't just buy the lens. it will be the lens, together with the base -- no bulbs, no wirings, just the *thing* itself).
hope this helps.

daverman, no problem, glad to help my light cracked in early sept and i simply couldn't wait that long for the lens (didn't want any water to get inside which could even damage the bulb). now it's oly couple of weeks for you that's not too bad
i am seriously thinking about those lens protective layer. couple of members on the board are using them and they seem to be quite useful. they are only 70 bucks so it's nothing more than a fog light lens for me (again i got my set for 60....)
