Couple of questions.

1. Driving how from work and the gas light came on -- get some gas, maybe 1/4 or so. Gas light is still on. Get home turn car off and then on couple of times, its still on. Also turned gas cap to make sure it was tight. Whats Up With It. Any ideas??

2. For the last 2 weeks maintance Required light has been flicking on start and shuts off. Figured it needs to go in for retuine checkup. Now yesterday the light stays on and does not turn off. Could it possibly have the same problem with the gas light, or is this normal.

If it is normal should I take it to acura, or not. I do my own oil changes and had tires rotated already. By the way I have 38000 miles on the car. Is there way to shut that light off. Thanks

not sure about Q1. Maybe just put a little more gas in and see if the light turns off. Could be a sensor problem.
Q2 has been brought up on this board before. Basically, the light flashes for a couple hundred miles then stays on steady. To reset the light just have the key in the off position, hold down the select and reset buttons simultaneously and keep them pushed down while you turn the key to the position just before start. Keep holding the buttons and after a few seconds the light will extinguish.

I had a Toyota 4Runner and the gas light stayed on because the seal of the gas cap was compromised, and there was some sort of sensor that measured the pressure in the tank...I'd bet Acura might use a similar set-up...Call and ask a service tech...

I remember reading on here somewhere that people had the fuel level sender in the tank changed because it went bad.

well I don't know if my gas gauge fluctuation is the same thing as this, but in any event, I had the fuel sending unit replaced, and that seemed to cure the problem.

good luck with that.
