They initially released it in auto-only, to see how sales would be initially, as a 5-speed isn't usually a big seller, even on the 3-series, plus it was a tiptronic tranny so...
And I know that Toyota has concerns about this ULEV (Ultra Low Emission) thing being standard on every Lexus, I'm pretty sure the GS430 is just LEV, because of the V8, and the fact that the IS is positioned to compete between the 325 & 330 (184 & 225hp) hence the 215hp engine.

Let us not FORGET the ES 300 was at the END of it's product cycle.
Let us not forget the TL is oh 5-7k cheaper.

There is the difference in your cars sold.
And the new ES has been selling over 5k a month which is slighlty ahead of expectations.

If numbers REALLY count, I guess the 191 GS 430s sold in January means the car sucks, right?

If being small and being RWD is a FLAW, maybe YOU chose the TL and not your wife.............
