Cool Comptech springs bumpy ride?

Hi everyone,

I just bought my new '02 TLS a couple of months ago. The dealership already had lowered the car an inch and had comptech springs in it. Since then I have been waiting for a 'break-in' period as I've been told regarding the 'bumpiness' with the car.

I don't know if it's the stock shocks that can't handle the vehicle being lowered...or if comptech springs aren't so great? I've tried lowering the tire pressure but it had a minimal effect. The driver and front passenger side aren't so bad...but anyone sitting in the backseat is going to go for a bumpy ride if the road isn't so smooth!

I had my doubts about getting this car already lowered (i had a lowered integra GSR before this one). And this is really the annoying part of driving my cool car. I've been hearing from everyone how their TLS are such smooth rides. Please advise! Any tips? Should I just get the stock springs re-installed (and obviously raised to stock level) after the dealership finds me a new pair of stock springs (they promised me this)? Should I just wait to replace the shocks with KONI brand?

Any comments would be appreciated.

I just got the comptech springs installed about a month ago and I love 'em. The ride is not much different than stock...only difference is on the bigger bumps/potholes you will feel it a bit more. However, the trade-off is a much better handling car than stock....I'll take that any day over the factory springs.

yes you are right, the handling is much better w/ the comptech springs as opposed to stocks.

its not bumpy at all, the ride might be more harsh where you'll feel bumps more, but my car does not bounce at all. If you want handling you need to sacrifice ride comfort a bit

And if you already feel it's too bumpy, don't change to KONI shocks, the ride will be stiffer!

Thumbs up Comptechs are the shiznit....................

I agree with everyone that the ride is still the same except that you will feel the bumps a little more, but that is nothing compared to the ride and the aggressive look it gives your car. Just make sure that you get your alignment done!

You have to understand that......

Comptechs are geared towards Acura only! Just think about it. A company that makes components towards only one brand of car. Thats phat if you ask me......

So in other words, Comptech knows our vehicle where Eibach and others don't....

I've had the Comptech springs, without the Comptech Sway or changing the stock shcoks, and the car handles great. I don't see a problem, and the ride is not that bumpy.

Shouldn't be a problem.
