Comptech Headers on Stock Exhaust?

Comptech Headers on Stock Exhaust?
I'm sure this has been covered before, but I searched around earlier and couldn't find much help so I'll post this question I'm tossing around in my head. I'm considering adding a set of comptech headers on my 02 TL-S and I'm wondering if it's worth it since it'll be added to a stock exhaust, which I assume is restrictive enough as it is. The whole point of headers is to give less restrictive flow to the exiting gasses, but wont the stock exhaust be the new found bottleneck and cancel out any gains that would be made with new headers? Let me know your thoughts guys,
Thanks.
Thanks.

You will be fine with just the headers. The stock exhaust is pretty free flowing already. I have OBX headers and the Comptech exhaust. The aftermarket axelback exhaust is mostly for looks and sound. The power gain with the axelbacks vs stock is very little. You will be happy with the added performance of the headers.

I hope so...I just forked out almost $1300 for the comptech headers....very hard to do considering I can pick up a set of OBX for around $280....wow what a huge difference.....
now all I have to do is wait for shipping and then find a way to install them...I sure hope when I have (second) transmission problems that my dealer doesn't void my warranty due to my headers.

That's the same thing I went through, but I went the cheaper OBX route. So far so good. Have fun and good luck with the install!

I have the CT headers with supercharger and stock exhaust. I think their are a few guys on the CL board running the same setup. I called CT and asked if getting the SC would be a problem with the stock exhaust he said no. It would help but not as greatly as the header would. So he recommended getting the header first and I could live without the CT exhaust for awhile.
