Question Color question: Gray or Green?

I am in the process of purchasing a 2000 TL. The car is described as Gray (color, not market!).
I have seen conflicting information on the web about what colors were offered in 2000. Is there a Gray color? I have seen some pictures of Laguna Green and they look like the car is pretty Gray.
The car has a gray interior(at least the seats are), but some of the products offered on this website only give two color choices: parchment or ebony.

Any ideas?

Thank You

Buying a car on the website? Good Luck. You should check the car out in person. Test drive it .

Um...no. Sorry, you misunderstood...

I have driven the car. When I mentioned the products on the website, I guess I was talking about the wood steering wheel. Anyway, I am pretty sure now that, in the "gray-colored" car I am getting, the steering wheel is black/ebony while the seating is gray. Sorry for any confusion...but back to my real question. Was there a Gray color and a Laguna Green color offered in 2000? Or are they the same?

OR...is there any way to decipher the VIN? I think I can do THAT with my Audi TT.

Thanks, fsttyms1.

The car I am looking at is not Laguna Green then. As far as some of the products on this website go, I looked at the color options for the body kit pieces.
I think Heather Mist has some gold in it(never actually seen it on person), so I am not sure that is Gray. The only other one I can think of would be the Anthracite, but I think that is more of a charcoal than the one I am talking about.

Here is a link...
This is not the car I am getting, but it looks just like this one. Is Gray the official color?

Thanks

No, I am sure that there is no green at all to that car.
Honestly, I have never seen the Laguna Green. And I have not seen too many of the Gray.
I guess I will find out for sure when I pick the car up and look at the documentation/paint codes.
In the end, "Gray" or "Green"...it is just a word.

I am wondering if certain colors were only sold in some parts of the country. Like I said, I have never seen the Laguna Green. Sounds like you have never seen the Gray.

Of course, maybe I am wrong...

One other thing...I have been contemplating putting on the Black Chrome badges. I really like the look of them on gray, black, and silver Lexus GS300s. What do you all think?

Check out tirerack.com

and look at their simulator for the TL. You can see all the colors there.

The Laguana green looks grey and although the interior is green its really light and looks similar to the gray. Its not anthracite as it was not offered until 2002. I do not think there was a gray in 2000. Unless of course it is repainted.

Talking Holy Shmoly! I stand corrected!

I went to the Acura Owner Link website and registered with the VIN of the car. Looks like it IS Laguna Green. I don't see green in it all. And I would not have called the interior Fern. Just looks gray to me.
Doesn't matter. I still like it. Seeing you all soon.

I'm a 2000 Laguna Green Metallic owner...

and the interior is gray leather, not fern.

Laguna green looks like a "clear-ish", lighter gray in overcast lighting conditions, but in sunlight it's one of the sharper looking colors in my opinion, with definite gray-green hues showing.

Even with a 3-year old paint job, I still have people regularly stop me on the street and say "that's a gorgeous car" or something like that.

Welcome to the club, and great color choice!

By the way, there was NO gray offered in 2000 -- in 2001, they discontinued the laguna green and introduced a gray, which is definitely darker and more pure gray -- really easy to notice once you've got a laguna green... not sure why they discontinued the laguna green, but I guess it's nice to see fewer of my car's color around...

Laguna Green Metallic was offered from '99 thru '01.

For '01, at least, it was offered only with a matching fern interior. I know cuz I own one and still have the sales brochure.

Some people think it is gray. However I know better. When polished, and in total sunshine the green comes out. At dusk it is even more mesmerizing - it seems to change colors (!).

I had wanted a tan interior, but I've grown to love it, especiallly the bluish green carpeting and floor mats.

I still think it's the best color they ever offered. The anthracite offered on '02's is a distant runnner-up.

i agree. i too also own a laguna green and the fern was the only color interior. it is a green hue inside and out. under some lighting you can really see the green pop out!

I am picking up my '00 tomorrow. I already found out(see above) that the exterior is Laguna Green. After I get it I will try to find out what color the interior is - gray or fern.

Man, I gotta say...
this color never looks green to me. I just saw one this morning while I was jogging. Looked gray to me.

Just let me say also, that I love this color. It is my favorite color for the TL. I am not sure if I have seen an Anthracite 02+, but I really like that as well.
