Cold Air Intake install on 99 tl

I purchased a intake system for my 1999 TL (reactive) when removing the OEM components i see there are some hoses that have coolant and the box has similar to a snall radiator. Has someone installed an intake on this car before. I need help. you can email me at raponte@lehighpresspuertorico.com

email sent -Hope that helps!
and enjoy your new intake system!
Get the bypass valve in case you did not already.
I'm sure you'll be happy you did when Hurricane season rolls around.

yeah i ran in to that with my '99... its the coolant hose for the heater in the airbox... i just bypassed it, looped it back in to itself...

:D

I don't think the bypass valve will stop a hurricane.

True True...
Hopefully, homeboy won't be driving around in a hurricane...

dude post it here. I wanna see it too

you should find a piece of metal piping that connects the hoses, simply disconnect the hoses from the OEM intake box and use the metal piece of piping to loop the hoses back onto themselves. watch out for leaking coolant when you disconnect the hoses!!!

Do you realize you just bumped a 15 year old thread where the person you're responding to hasn't posted since January of 2004?

Probably googled the thread XD
Love seeing these ancient threads getting bumped

elfnumber1 04-02-2018 01:26 AM

i have absolutely no issues with this (bumping old ass threads), i do the same thing.

miss bundy, what is the issue? might be helpful for you to read my thread "my 2003 tl-p" where i was confused as well. but once you get it all connected it is very obvious. pictures on your confusion will be super helpful.

I tell my friends IRL all the time about that one thread where someone asked a question, and 11 years later someone replied and answered it, so the guy pulled the car out of his shed and fixed the issue with the new information. Just blows my mind that OP waiting paid off for once hahaha.

Chojun 04-09-2018 12:58 PM

Haha I don't have a problem bumping old threads either - it's nice if information is consolidated in one place instead of all over.

Arkady 04-09-2018 01:17 PM

^^^ Ain't that the truth. I'd rather find one thread with posts ranging from 2001 to 2017 to search through for my answer, rather than pick through 50+ threads across all the years each time a new thread was opened up.
