Code readers

Im looking into it for future purchase (i know i know i should have ordered this before my lil project) I want to get a code reader, but id prefer something for the laptop. Can someone recomend something good (but not like some 1000+ dollar stuff)??

there is a tool at my uncle's shop its made by MAC TOOLS AND I THINK IT IS CALLED THE MAC MENTOR. ANYWAYS IT READS ALL CODES LIKE ENGINE TRANNY ABS AND AIRBAG FOR ALL CARS US,JPN,EURO AND IT COST HIM ABOUT $1300.00

The one I talked to you about via pm that I have is pretty good. Forgot the model name and # but it was like $150 bucks. Works pretty good the few time I used it.

thanks. Id like to someday down the road get something for the laptop, and future issues (if i ever get it running to have future issues)
