Cool Closed the deal! Pick up a new TL/S next week!

I made an offer to a local dealer for a TL Type S w/o Nav for $29,500. We dickered back and forth, he wanted more, I upped my offer to $29,775, but he wouldn't budge after that, even though we were just $200 apart.

Ok, we're close anyway, so let's skip the price stuff and talk lease for now. Then he started getting really old school and doing some very funny things with hidden fees and charges and other tricks.

But this was my fourth leased car, so I knew all the ploys dealer's use to pad leases, and gave him my trusty loan calculation spreadsheet which showed that he was making 4% over invoice, with the CORRECT lease figures. (His fudging would have cost me an additional $1,400 over the life of the lease!!)

I told him he had an exclusive until the end of the week when I'd start shopping my offer around. But he continued playing games with the lease figures and made other changes to "my offer."

Ok, time to move on. I took my calculations, and faxed them to all the Acura dealers in the state. "I know what I want, this is what I want to pay, come get it."

Not ten minutes later I get a call from a General Manager from a competiting dealership accepting my offer, no ifs, ands, or buts! After going through everything line by line to be sure, he was perfect to the penny. Gave him my deposit, I pick up the car next week.

$29,775 OTD, 42 month Acura lease at $351/month, residual of $18,070 at lease end.

Is that 15k/yr? The 42 months would sure bring down the lease a bit compared to 36 months.
