have a 99tl . i got the headlights off, but cant get the middle bulb out. (the main headlight). it has a star shaped screw with a point in the middle preventing me from using a philips screw driver. that screw needs to be unscrewed to be able to twist the buld fixture to remove it. any ideas?

Thats a security torx screw...I believe. Allot of us have removed that screw by using a small flat head screwdriver and having the blade across the point (in the screw) and by grabbing on both sides of the blade into star shaped section.

If that fails, use a wrench/plier and twist it off like that. It's basically a wood screw screwed into plastic. Not too hard to remove. The screw is there for peoples safety since the ballasts put out a lot of volts.

TUFF GONG.....since you asked what would look good for bulbs on cleared headlights. Try looking at the APC Titaniums, they are chrome colored when off and amber when on. Matches nice with the cleared lights. As for the bottom corners I would suggest APC 194's there the same as the 168's. Those are amber off and on.

Austin at the other acura site has them on his car, he put up some pictures of them...so you can see the before and after look.

Check it out

Hey, Axelback--
Now, you can kill 'em, but it puts you in a lot of hot water if you do--although you can always hire Johnny Cochran to get you off the hook . . .
I guess I'm gettin' too old, too lazy or both, but it looks like a HELL of a lot of work--I was complaining about removing my resonator and I am NOT going to take those little orange things out no matter WHAT!

After I put everything back together I forgot to put back the silver clips. Do they really need to be on the light. What purpose do they serve.
