silver spray paint

I had my corners cleared at Gen 1 also. Dean does a good job and guarantees his work.

I have the hyperwhite Polarg M12's in my car, but they unfortunately turned my lamp housing slightly blue during the daytime. Not anymore.....

alas. The paint chipped off this morning when I turned the bulbs on. Hmm. I think I may go get a high temp paint and try it again. I don't think they make high-temp paint in chrome though, but silver is available. Maybe I should just buy the silver paint.

The bulbs looked gorgous in chrome paint! Aww, too bad it doesn't work.

If at first you don't succeed...

Try again. I cleaned up the bulbs and sprayed high-temp silver (alas couldn't get chrome) paint.

success

I waited two days for the paint to dry. Leave the blinkers on in the socket for a couple minutes before reinstalling them to let some of the paint dry and smoke off. It does not chip off with hightemp paint. Notice how I'm using an infrared thermometer to measure the temp in F.

no visible blue

You can't even see any of the bluish tint that's orginally on these bulbs.

shine on

Brightness only slightly decreased. Still looks brighter than the stock amber bulbs thanks to 35Watt Polargs.

Sure, the stock amber ones are lower wattage and won't even get as hot as the Polarg M12's. Paint them with confidence, as long as you use high-temp paint. If your only real worry is law enforcement, cops don't care about front white blinkers.

I absolutely love the look of the white lights all around, but what good are they as blinkers? Or do you just care that the back blinkers are useful?

Hey Josh...is that pic with your parking lights on only? not when it blinks right? It appears to look more "whiter" then before...remember how before it looked kinda dull? When your not doing...call me up and come over and show it to me.

The pics are with my hazard lights on only. I snapped the photo when the light was on. True, that when the parking lights are on, the 5W filament produces a lower color temp. light which is not as "white" as the light produced by the 35W blinker filament. This doesn't bother me, but you're more than welcome to electrical tape or dab some elmer's on that contact on your bulb to shut off the 5W filament altogether. I'll keep 'em just as they are.

Ray, you can check out my lights when I get to check out your new 2002 type-S that I keep on hearing so much talk about. :p

Hmmm I got to hit this place up been wanting to get my corners cleared. So they provide the bulbs too. Hmmm getting excited already I hope they could do it on saturday heheh. I really need to get shoes for my car. I'm can't decide there are so many rims out there. Than I will feel complete. Wait I also need those cross drill rotors if I get my rims than I'll feel complete.

the place is called generation 1... loook it up on yellowpages in yahoo. wait... the info should be on the first page of this thread. the back signals...poc.... just unscrew....with your hands, the plastic screws inside your trunk.. and just turn the light bulb. its not hard. but remember, you have to file down one of the knobs on the buls to make it fit. you will see when you open it up. just compare the bulbs. the place you buy it at should do it for you.
