I sprayed it pretty good. You do need the all purpose cleaner, but you have to scrub and spray that off. The tire foam, then wipe is to dress everything afterwards..

I have seen excellent results on really dirty cars with a strong mix of Simple Green used in a spray bottle, or use a 1 gallon garden sprayer.. to save your trigger finger

self mix various ratios depending on the job- engine and grease is near full or full strength.
Will clean oil off your driveway at full strength!

Takes road grime off my motorcycle wheels and cleans any oil drips and road dirt underneath--spray and wipe.
Keep a bottle of it, and bottle of plastic cleaner close to the bike parking in the garage,,get home or getting ready to ride- wipe it all off, QD detail spray to shine the fenders and off we go!!
Bugs say goodbye from glass lenses

note SG will remove car wax, so be careful about overspray and wild rinsing
or it will be ready for a good polishing and wax afterwards

If you live in an apartment or place where there is no safe place to rinse,
take it to the quarter car wash, without starting the machine- do your choice of spray cleaner, hand brush as needed and use the machine to do the rinse
DO use baggies over the important parts discussed before

ONLY use the low pressure spray that comes out without you pulling the trigger for high pressure soap- so you get soap without pressure
and the final rinse is pretty soft- stay off the trigger as needed

Those car wash places have filters in the drain system to catch the bad stuff and keep it trapped, not let it in the water-stream.. where it kills fish and worse

All I have to say is that If you want a spotless engine bay, take an hour, some rags, water, soap; and just go to work.
I have had amazing results with this,
It takes time and patience but the results you get speak for them selves.

01tl4tl, that's why I put a disclaimer in my picture/diagram...

Just spray the degreaser on, any stubborn spots use a rag or brush to loosen and rinse off with low pressure.
