chipped TL-S

after reading all this talk about the s4 and hearing my friend with an s4... i wanted to know if there are any chips like they make for the s4 .. for our cars...

does anyone know of any chips for our cars? if so.. will they void the warranty? who installs them? what are the possible gains and the possible problems??

thanks

in advance

Chip wouldn't help us the way it helps the S4s because we have no Turbos.

Someone told me that you can get a custom chip made for you.

Yes and no

Yes b/c it's the only thing that works. Keep in mind that it's really only useful if you have a lot of mods. Even then you're only going to get around 5-10hp.

No b/c JetChip does make a chip for our car... however, out of the few people who got it (for the CL-S)... I can remember off-hand that 2 reported no gains and one actually lost a little power. So it does exist... just doesn't work well on our cars

Ive been told that a mod shop can run a computer to our ECU and modify our timing on air intake and fuel intake and actually make our vtec activate earlier and so forth and force the car to allow more air intake for better boost, anyone else hear this?

Yup.... that's almost EXACTLY what the V-Afc does. But, like I mentioned above... properly tuned you're only looking at 5-10 HP.

BTW... activating V-TEC earlier doesn't produce any moer power... just a little bit more power earlier. The people who I've seen tune the V-AFC really didn't mess with the V-TEC engagement that much... maybe 100RPM earlier or so.....
