cheap way to bring that GLOSS back to your paint.

I own a 99TL, and my car looked a bit hazy with swirl marks and faded clear coat. Since it's black, it's much more visible too.
I went to Pepboys, bought a Random Orbital Buffer - $30 (comes with wax removing pad, buffer pad, and applicator pad.) bought 3 more wax removing pad. - $5.00
bought a thing of Turtle Wax Polishing Compound - $2.50
a can of Mother's pure Brazilian carnuba wax - $18.00

WARNING: polishing compound will remove some clear coat.

1. applied polishing compound by hand. wipe off extra before drying to a haze.
2. use buffer with wax remover pad remove polishing compound.
*some parts of my car required this step about 2 times to remove scratches*
3. Use buffer with buffing pad. remove any material off finish.
4. Apply Mother's wax by hand. wait for it to dry to a light haze.
5. use another fresh wax removing pad and remove wax. Remove any accumulated dried wax on pad.
6. Buff with buffer pad.
7. BE AMAZED AT YOUR FINISH!!!!

I was very very impressed with how clear my clear coat looked. I'd say it removed 90% of the swirl marks, and fine scratches.
Car's finish looked like new!

* this will take about 2-3 hours. The buffer saves time...and results are much more consistent.*
