Changing Oil

I use Mobil Super Synthetic for only 4k now. I want to switch over to Valvoline cause I heard it was better. Can I do that?

Also I still have a botle of Mobil left can I mix them.

Yes - you can mix them. Synthetic oils are completely compatible with non-synthetic oils.

Still yes. I took this right from the Valvoline website:

- SynPower is fully compatible with all conventional and leading synthetic motor oils

this might be old info, but Mobil 1 recommends that you never mix synthetics of different brands together.

Take your one quart back to Kragens and see if they'll give you a quart of Vavoline.

This from the Mobile1 website:

Q. Can different synthetic motor oils be mixed together?

A. Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ is fully compatible with conventional motor oils, semi-synthetic motor oils and other synthetic motor oils, should it be necessary to mix them. But the superior performance of Mobil 1 with SuperSyn™ will be reduced by diluting it.

Save yourself the trouble of returning the oil and just mix them...

Again, my info was a warning from Mobil one from years ago. Although there may not be anything wrong with mixing syn oils, I still wouldn't. Synthetic by definition are lab engineered, so why mix mixtures from two different companies? I care enough about my car to use synthetic, and I always go the extra mile to get the oils all from one company.
