Hi, there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers. A lot is covered here and if you use the search function, you can type in 6000k and find a wealth of info right here at this website.
Nice first car--mine was a 57 Fairlane that would drop its rust every time I slammed the door

6000k headlights are HID headlights that are brighter/whiter than our stock ones (stock are 4300k). if u want ur fogs to match ur headlights, the best way to go is to get an HID kit that comes with a ballast and real HID bulbs. however this method is a lil expensive, and if u dont have the money, there are some bulbs out there that are a pretty good match. i dont kno them off hand, so do a search on it.

You have it a little mixed up there WiLz. Technically The 6000K are more bluer than the stock 4300K. Therefore the 6000K are also a little bit dimmer than the 4300K (Although I think they are just as bright). The higher the temperature the more of blue color you get. If you ask why top of the line lux cars have a blue color and are also bright it's because their HIDs are projectors.

this is me, you will not find a bulb that get's you an exact match for you HIDs that will work properly.

Hey WiLz, how much did the fog conversion cost you? Did you install it yourself?

I'm trying to separate the 6000K and the foglights. I'm currently putting a yellow film over the fogs. What I might try to do is convert the fogs to HID and put a yellow lens. (I take it I will be able to use my old 4300K bulbs in the fog HID kit?)

this is me....first off, welcome.

if you're looking to replace the fog bulbs, two choices:

1) HID kit - about $500 or so, this will match perfectly
2) you can replace with similar halogen bulbs. the size is 9006. i just got the Sylvania Silverstars yesterday from Pep Boys. They're $24.99 each, and they match almost perfectly. I would definitely recommend that. a lot of members here have them.

good luck

yah i kno that the 4300 light up brighter than the 6000k...i meant that it APPEARED brighter and whiter.

and i got the hid kit for $500, and installation is real easy...as long as u kno how to get the bumper off (which is real easy too)

actually in fog condition using a bright white bulb is not going to do you any good at all. you are just going to get tons of reflection and you won't see anything. in fogs condition the best lightning system is always always yellow fogs, those on lexus. yellow light is what travels through fog.

but to me i don't care, coz' here in CA you hardly see fog, so i just changed it to hid as well

and in case you wonder, YES, hid fogs is a stupid idea in foggy condition

hehe wilz, technically when you look at the bulbs themselves, 6000k will look brighter coz' it "diverse" more, but the usable light on the ground is less than the stock 4100k

but then we have 4 hid bulbs, that helps quite a bit. what i do is the fogs hid lights up the close by area, and i adjust the headlight to shine higher for further roads

yes they run for around 100 bucks a pair. also keep in mind you are running quite a bit out of spec. i think the super plasma is 65W or more? our stock housing is 51W. i had the piaa platinum white (51W) and it was super hot already

read the manual, it has detailed instructions with diagrams on how to change out the fog light bulbs. it's very easy as long as you get a screw driver with extention arm (probably 6 inches?)
