Angry Be Careful with your wheels!

Guys, I'm so pissed with myself over a stroke of stupidity. I am changing my oil using the correct 5w-20 with a nice Pure 1 oil filter and decide to rotate the tires per the handbook. I removed all of the lugs and locks but did not remove the wheels..left them hanging. Never do this as when I was working on one difficult driver's side lug nut, the rotation allowed the now loose right front to drop and it dropped on it's face(tools beneath) placing a nice fingernail sized gash in the rim!! These spokes protrude out so far that damage is guaranteed. Don't be an idiot as me, assume the worst will happen, move loosened wheels away from the work or they will topple over or tools will fall etc. Now the guy who doesn't want strangers to work on his car, me, as they will damage it has done just that--stupid and unnecessary. Think and save yourself $$.

Ahhh...... I feel your pain. Last week I opened my car door wide and hit the side of my fence and made a lil ding on my door. Then I went up a driveway w/a lot of ppl and scraped my front bumper ($350) to repaint. At least a new rim won't be that much. You can also keep the damaged rim as a spare.

feel your pain too... i also got a pretty deep ding and scratch on my rear bumper. i don't know if that's the result for tail in or someone hitting me when i head in. luckily it's close to the bottom and not as visible as it would have been.

Damn, sorry to hear that. It's man of you to admit it, though. Not many of us would do that...
Nice choise of color, inside and out, by the way. I've tinted my windows, and put on H&R Sports, and the 3A Racing Tips... I recommend all of them. MANY compliments.
Is that your Vette?? Any pics of that baby??
