Car washing goods
Hey all,
We're having a week-long break in the weather and I decided it's time to clean my car. But the stuff I have right now belongs to my folks, and they tend to buy the cheapest cleaning solutions possible. I'm not sure if their stuff is good for my car, since their car has nasty streaks all over the exterior. As for the interior, I used to use armor all, but I was just recently told that it's a carcinogen. I can't find any proof of that and suspect that the guy who told me was misinformed. But then again, better safe than sorry
That said, what do you all use to keep your baby shining? Also, does anyone know of any brand that will keep windows from fogging up?

i use turtle wax car wash... not the wax but the soap. then for the tires i use formula 88 to clean them... on the tire and rim. then to dry it i use the absorber towels. so far this has been a great combination. i use a seperate mit for the rims and to wash the car itself. for the windows... i jsut bought some wipes that are supposed to be specifically for windows and not leave any hazing or anything... it worked great on all the windows except the back one

Here is the combo that I have found to be the best in all my years of detailing---
Wheel wells and tires------simple green
Wheels-----car wash soap, wheel cleaners are too harsh and a waster of $$
Car wash soap------Meguiars soft wash gel, or dawn before waxing
Wax----Meguiars No. 26 paste, without a doubt
Polish---Zymol HD cleanse
Tire Dressing-----3M tire dressing (expensive but worth it)
Interior------just a damp cloth to wipe down the dash and seats----I don't like the greasy shiny look protectants leave behind, and Lexol on the leather
Glass Cleaner-----I know this sounds stupid, I have tried EVERYTHING for the glass, and the best product by far is Armor All Glass Cleaner, trust me, try it out.
Did I leave out anything? lol

Cool, thanks for the suggestions guys.
Str8acura, where'd you get those towels from? I looked all over for those towels, but all I could find are those super-absorbant hand towels that swimmers/divers use. I'm sorry, but I just can't justify spending $34.99 for an 8"x8" towel. I settled for a silicone blade, works pretty well on flat surfaces, but I still need a towel for all the grooves and corners.

Zaino Bros for the exterior
303 Aerospace for the interior.
I just use regular windex for the windows but they still fog up.

Another place to find cleaners and supplies is www.properautocare.com
they sell all kinds of towels, cleaners and polishes.
I use Zaino and Lexol myself.
