car seems slow, what to check?
aight here's the deal:
during the last month i noticed that my car felt slower than it used to.. sometimes it feels faster and sometimes it feels kinda slugish.
what made me think there really must be something wrong with my car is the fact that a 1999 TL with only CAI can chirp tires going into second while a cannot and i have i/h/e/p/type-s tb
there's also the fact that a 2000 or 2001 TL can make a nice burnout from just flooring the car when i can barely spin the tires.. (no neutral drop or anything, just floor it)
so what id like to know is what i should check for, here's what i can think of:
-spark plugs
-tranny oil (tranny feels strange, or maybe it's just me..)
-get a bottle of injector & fuel system cleaner
so, you guys have any idea?

I really don't know, but check those things definately, check everything you can. If you think you need to replace the tranny fluid, go for it, it couldn't hurt now could it? I just got mine completely flushed and refilled and my car feels loads better.
Could be something like bad gas too, if you have been filling up someplace different, sometimes the Cumbies near me has gas that ruins me, so I try and avoid them.
Couldn't hurt to check/change the plugs too, maybe even the oil, though I'm quite sure you know that.

floor mat to far under the gas pedal?????
gas, weather all play a HUGE roll in how good a car runs.
my 2000 cant make a nice burn out just from flooring it but it runs 15.1's-4's. the seat of pants lies to you on how fast your car is and isnt. but if it is slower, id try changing fuel, plugs (if you havent already) and maybe check into the egr port cleaning.
