Car returned after tranny replacement, and guess what, its needs a 3rd transmission
Okay, my ongoing saga is that last week my tranny died and my car was towed to the dealer. It took a week, but I got my car back today and the tranny (the remanufactured unit), was noticeably moaning when downshifting, turning corners and in particular when in reverse.
Well I return to the dealer and one of their techs take a drive with me, and I can reproduce the the moan noise. He says, does it not usually make that noise and I am like NO. He then tells the service manager hes 80 % sure I need another new tranny.
The service manager says that I should drive the car on the weekend and if its does not get any better, return the car for another transmission. Its getting worse.
Well, I think I am a slow ticking time bomb that may go off the next time I am at the dealer. I know its not their fault, but I am piss-d.
I want rid of this car. It just feels like its less now. If Acura screws up the tranny again, I will be working hard for them either buying it back or helping me with a deal on a new MDX.
I will keep you posted.

I spoke to the tech and he said there have been a lot of transmissions go on this vehicle, at their dealership alone and he attributes it to cost cutting by Honda, to keep the price low.
I have heard that the Canadian warranty will be 6 years, 160,000 kilometers. Nothing in writing yet but I will be asking for it.
