The car idles on 120-140mph?

Hi.
Yesterday, when I was driving my 02 TL-S on HWY, I hit 140mph... Yeah, I was crazy... Anyways, when I was on 120-140 range, it was rattling and shaking and felt unsafe. Would this be my axles bad? or I need wheel alignment or something?
thanks in advance.

If your car is heavy, then the cutoff comes in earlier, so was it redlining anytime just prior to it "idling"? if it was then its the computer that cut the fuel off, which is a safety measure. otherwise, maybe your fuel filter couldnt handle that flow rate, changing it may help you in your crazy escapades!!!

I went about 125 in mine a while back on the highway and it was smooth as at 80mph, so ya something may be off some.

what in the world are you talking about????

as for the fibration, odd are you have a tire out of balance, bent wheel, worn shock. it could be any # of things, but odds are its tire related

my car is smooth as glass at 145+

Do you have stock rims on your car? Depending on what rating your tire is might be the problem if you car felt as if it was unsafe in the way you saying. I have went 145+ in mine without any problems but I do have "W" rated tires which are supposed to take like up to 168 mph or so...

Yes, I am on factory oem type-s rims..
My tires are toyo proxes.. I guess numerous things could effect this thing happen, but i felt my tl was like some cheap car when I was on 140 because of that rattling and dash board was rattling as well... I guess I have to check my axle, shocks, or something.. $$$

idds are its just a tire that isnt balanced perfectly. if thats the case (ive had it before) it will cause alot of shaking at those speeds.

First man, if its rattles and feels unsafe dont take it there. Second, its probably your wheel alignment because i really dont thing 3year old suspension parts can go bad (very unlikely) OR it could've been the road.

keep it safe yo!

*btw, know many members have gone even faster with no rattlin...it should be the other way around, smooth as your car is about to lift off!! (also now i'm 2nd in top speed -153 on my 99, lost to a guy who pushed to over 155 on a '01...tough your -S is governed at 147)

I went 135 on a low quality road, and it was shaky, but i think if it was a freshly resurfaced road it would be smooth as butter
