Cool Cannot lock doors when a door is open

I have had my '03 TL for about 15 days. I realized that I cannot lock all the doors with the remote if any door or the trunk is open. This is not good, as I have to wait for all the doors to be closed before I can lock the car.
Even in my old '95 Ford minivan, I can use the remote to lock all doors, even when they are open.
Is there any way to change this behavior? Does anyone else find this annoying?

it is there to prevent you from locking the keys in the car........you can get around it by pulling out the handle and pressing down on the lock at the same time

i think this is a good thing because if one of the door was not closed tightly . . . you would know because the alarm wont arm.

I agree that this is a good feature. It's saved my butt more than once.

Why would you want to lock the doors when one or more is still open?

For example,
If you have kids, sometimes it is more convenient to to lock the doors after opening the rear door next to the kid. Once junior is retrieved it's just a matter of closing the door and off ya go.

Otherwise(like the setup we have) it can be a real juggling act with kid in arms, bag in other, and having to dig FOB out of pocket to lock up.

My '03 doors lock when the trunk is open. I noticed if you hit the button twice it doesn't beep/chirp. Yet when I checked the doors they were all locked.

All you have to do is press down on the lock lever on the driver's door as you're getting out of the car. Then all doors are locked and each stay locked once they are closed.

That would work in general, BUT, now that I've locked the doors how do I collect junior who is in the back seat?

The Odyssey is pretty nice. I think it's the best mini van on the market right now. Actually, I don't mind having that as my daily driven car since it has 240hp, but I don't have any kids. Oh wells.

Hehe,
My responce was somewhat TIC, but I guess minivans just are'nt my cup of tea. I will agree however, that they(Odyssey) are great vehicles. My brother has an '01 and loves it. Let's face it, Honda makes a pretty darn good product.
