Question Canadian (Toronto) Spoiler Question

I decided not to get my TL-S from the dealer with the spoiler already on, because I wanted to check out my options once I got the car.

Any of you get your spoiler put on after you bought the TL-S?

What did you pay for it? Acura.ca says that the price is $654.53, but if you add tax to that it comes out to 750 before labor.

What kind of deal did you guys get?

I got the shaft on this one, $800 for the spoiler installed, when I went to piuk up my car the first time.

Ouch, it's expensive. I wonder if there are people who do a good job for less $$ here in Toronto?

Mine was $600 plus tax installed, but bought it at the time I bought the car.

Laurelcrest,

Hate to tell you this but the best price you will get is when you bought the car. The spoiler was my bargining item when they would not reduce the price any further... They agreed to go 1/2 way of the website but I got them down to $250

OH!BTW the price on the website 654 should be the installed price (scroll up and read the header line). As to where you can get it cheaper, try Woodbine Acura.

Thanks for the info, I'm gonna give them a call tomorrow and see what they say.

On a side point, my last TL-S had the sun visor, this one doesn't. I like the look better without the visor. Any opinions?

sun visor?

Laurelcrest,

I got ripped off on the spoiler (C$600 including instalation) when I bought the car. So follow what TLS RULZ had to say.

Sun visor? What are you referring to? Wind deflector for the moonroof?

basically they do not have much room for the parts like spoiler...blex got a gd deal on it coz he got it when he bought the car...it's just a number game...take 100 discount off from the car and put it to the spoiler...

I would get an aftermarket replica. I have a 1.6 EL, and wanted the OEM spoiler afterwards as well. I picked up a painted and installed replica for $300 from a local performance shop that I deal with. You should be able to get similar pricing and the quality is just as good as OEM IMO.

the problem is the parts for TL aren't as much as the 1.6 and civics...

True. But it also makes it more challenging to mod a TL than those cars. And not just the look, TL can whip their @ss (most of the time)

What are you guys saying? That an aftermarket spoiler can cost me 300 bucks or less? Please let me know where to get that from, and let me know if you have info on the places etc.

I put a BMW M5 lip spoiler on my 2002 TL-S for $219.00, including pearl white painting. I think it is a good alternative to the OEM style wing. Do a search and you can see pics.

The OEM aftermarket spoiler on my 1.6 EL is actually the same OEM one on the 98-up Accord coupes, which I am guessing is similar in size and dimension to the one on the TL's. If you are interested and in the GTA, I got it at Speedtech in Scarborough - (416) 335-8388.

Question ever think of Mugen?

Laurelcrest,

Come to think of it, ever consider the Mugen spoiler? If I could do things over again, I would get the Mugen spoiler ... HOT (but really pricey). I think you can find a place to get it in the A-CL boards ... out in BC. Don't know of any places in T.O. that carry it. Tatewaki or TLS RULZ may know ...

It'd be hard to find the Mugen spoiler now. But there are sites that sell duplicates of it. I've seen a few sites have it

I bought a used 2000 tl and got a factory spoiler for free after some dealing. I'll probably get sick of it in a month and want the mugen spoiler. The a-spec spoiler is always an option!

It'd be hard. It's better off to find a duplicate one.
