im trying to convince my mom to let me tint my car...but she doesnt want me to do anything illegal to my car ever and i have to keep her happy since she bought the car for me...and in nj any tint on the front window is illegal, but i convinced her that cops dont care....the problem is tho that i want 20 percent tints...and i told her that it wont be pitch black..and that you could still see some of the person inside...so can anyone hook me up with a pic of there car with 20%...(over exposed to light is possible)....thanx alot

p.s. tints make the car look nicer, if a cop stops you. open all 4 windows even if its -20 outside and ur never get a ticket

and if she dont want u still having them. get like a 25 or 30 all around.

just tell her that tint protect the interior from the sun. UV-rays and Ultra-violet and all that stuffs. And depending on how you hold the steering wheel, it wont turn one or both of your arms black in the summertime. You can also tell her that you can make love and noone can see it :p

Dude, get 35's. They look classy and are easy to see out of. I got 20's on our Honda and I realized it sux seeing at night!!!

 

I got holy hell from my mother when i came home with 3% tint... even though she didnt help with the car i still live with her

just do it and take the heat.... whats the worst she could do? make u take it off?

 

i hve 38% right now and its pretty light... even 35% can look light... u probably wont get hassled much by cops with that tint... i would suggest u go with 30% charcoal...

Since you mom bought the car for you, listen to her. But if you going to be a brat, go with 35% tint. I have 30% on mine.

 

well i got 20% on my other car all around and i'll have to do it to the tl soon, it helps when i'm in my car watching tv, and to keep the sun out when i'm driving. u could use all the excuses u want on ur mom but it prob won't help, u'll just have to bug her till she gives in

 

30% is good... not too dark, not too light... my 38% is not THAT noticeable during the day but at night looks good and have no trouble seeing out of it

 

I have 20% tints all around. I know it is illegal to have front tints in jersey so I just roll down the front windows if I see a cop.

Seriously though, the tints will really help out with protecting the leather, especially in the summer.

 

thanx all for the suggestions...i think im gonna go with 20% tints...i'll try the stratagy of rolling down windows when i see a cop...i convinced my mom mostly that cops dont care..but she still skepticle...and hasnt fully decide to let me...anyway...im not sure wher eto get it done..so any of you from nj might be able to hlep me out...i have a apointment at street effects in a few weeks to have my system put in and i was thinking of having it done at that time aswell...i think i was quoted 225...anyone know a better deal and does good quailty work?

don't pay 225, u shouldn't pay more than 170, lifetime warranty is usually included, or atleast always has been for me

 

where in jersey are u? Tropictints in union does it for 200 and they did a great job with my car

225 seems like a little high

 

LLumar Platinum Plus 20 is no problem at night it's my favorite of all the tints. Got a nice chromish mirrored look on sunny days I love it. Seems to attract less attention then plain black tint too.

 

i have 50% on the front and 35% in the rear, Madico Onyx Tint. It's not too light and not too dark. So hopefully cops wont harass me. Btw, im also from jersey.

 

Yo, where in Nj do you live, i have a place that does a really good job for a crazy cheap price, and if you live near essex county i come show your mom my 20%, my mom gave me **** for it and she didn't pay a dime for the car, but after it was done she liked it. Let me know bro.

A place called Street Dreams in Bloomfield, i was hesistant at first about going to bloomfield to get it done and about how cheap i could get it done, but they did an awesome job... i live in West Orange by the way, we definately should get up, last night there was a huge VW/Audi meet in Livingston at Tutor Time, on South Orange Ave... i was the only Acura there, Damn....

Spoiled brats, eh? Let me ask you a question. How hard did you work in school? GPA? ACT/SAT score? Just because some of us don't have time for a job since school IS our full time job doesn't mean we don't deserve a car. So I don't want to hear comments like that when you have NO idea what it is to live in our generation and how hard we work. And a Datsun is a Nissan ty very much.. BTW 17 year old "spoiled brat" here driving a 99 tl-p w/ 100k miles on which i paid 1/3 for.

 

i really do like datsuns...i'd like to have gotten a nice 240z and mod the hell out of it instead of getting this TL....but my mom doesnt beleive in used cars =/ ...just think of all the moeny i would of had for mods...
