Can ANYONE come up with a reason that a TL-P is better than a TypeS?

That's cool...I thought I was the only one who liked the 99-01 body more...even more than the new 04's! Although as far as the car is concerned...the 04 is badass!!! They just need to redesign the body imho...

Type S Lady: Where did you get your tranny cooler from? What does it do exactly? Do you thin kit's a worthwhile mod to protect the tranny? Or does it do something else...oh yeah...how's the supercharger feel?

Thanx!!

Bottom line, the stock TLS/TLP handles like a boat regardless. BOTH OF THEM!!!
Only if your previous car was a BMW or other RWD sport cars.

Many TL-S owners were driving Accord, Civic, Altima, Camry, Maxima, and other econo sedans beforehand. Those are real boats. So all these people will find their TL-S's handle very well, in comparison.

The only reason I even considered the TL - P was for the colors. We got hosed on our color choices w/ the Type S.

Modding the TL-P with 2 K of mods might make it a as fast or faster than TL-S but the same mods to the Type-S and you're history.
i second that..

my wife has the "P" I have the "S". I'd have to say the "S" reigns superior as she wants my car in the worst way. She loves the extra power!!

I test drove both the TL-P and TL-S when shopping used. I do a lot of highway driving on pothole-filled roads, and I would have ground my teeth out on the rougher ride of the TL-S, but miss the better cornering ability that I could have gotten. I like the 99-01 body style and rims better too, so wound up with a 00 WDP TL-P with grey interior, which is rare around here. One other small thing I like about the TL-P more: it has a tighter turning circle, love being able to squeeze in a tight turn with such a long car.

At the time I bought my '00 TL-P (used), it was at the upper end of my affordability; my previous car was totalled and I had to replace it quickly, I couldn't afford an '01, let alone a TL-S ('02+).

Over time, I modded my TL-P to be exactly what I wanted and it stands out because it looks like no other TL around here. Also, one reason I like my '00 is I prefer the '99-'01 styling better and I made it stand out with the Mugen grille, something you can't do with an '02+.

My TL is the nicest car I've ever owned and I'm totally pleased with it. Even now with my improved financial situation I could probably go for an '04 I still wouldn't because I like my TL-P too much.

The TL-P is a very powerful car, VERY LUXURIOUS ride... quiet, smooth .. until you get into the high power band, the power is arguably the same b/w the TypeS and the TL-P.

I would always get TL-P loaners while my Type S was in the shop and I'd LOVE the ride for the few days (or weeks) that my 's was in the shop.

The TL-P is a very cool car.

I agree. It's nice to get a TL-P loaner once in a while to feel the cushy ride. But I really missed the power of the S after a few hours. While the TL-P is no slouch, the S definitely feels more than 35 horses stronger.

I have a TL-s and the reason I got it (I bought it used) was because of the availability and price in this area. This was the youngest TL within my price range around here. All the used TL-p's were loaded with the same amount of miles, but '00 or '01 models. So the TL-s I found was, I felt, a good deal and the only one to go with.

If there was a TL-p with the same amount of miles, and and '02 model, I would have gotten that and probably saved a grand or so.

2 things that would have made me choose it are the supple, smooth and QUIETER ride of the TL-p and the tighter turning radius!

But what I love about my TL-s are the seats, gauges, the way the wheels look, the extra oomph from up front, and how can you folks forget- VSA!! That has saved my butt several times during our Florida heavy rains and slippery roads!.
Often times the stiff suspension is great. Its a catch 22. I love the precision and lack of body roll when nailing a turn with great precision for a car this size, but often dont like feeling every rut on the road when I want to relax on my drive home.

Often times, I find when the car is loaded with some weight, it floats along nicely ;-)

All in all, its a trade off and unless you want the best of both worlds, one would have to own both a P and S. I love my S and I still get stares when I walk up to in the parking lot ;-)

I respect the P's and still love my S!
