Burning/Light Smoke
Well I got my valves adjusted and new valve cover gaskets and I smell a burning smell. There isn't anything under my car I checked. At first I was like new gaskets it should go away. Still there. It mainly happens when Im on the highway for a good amount of time. Atleast 75mph or so. I changed my oil and its still there. I dont really see a leak but I really didnt do a lot of checking. 00 TL 195xxx
What do you guys think??

Maybe oil dripped on the engine when they pulled the valve cover?
Get the engine good and hot then stick your head under the hood and sniff and look.
If it's a sweet smell that's coolant.

I dont remember the color. It was real light I couldnt really see it. Just a hint of smoke.
Ryan, you know I gotta do what I gotta do out here in Cali. The gas is much higher here.
NSXNEXT, I thought the same thing. Its been like 2 weeks now and I get the smell every blue moon.

its possible one of the valve cover gaskets didnt seal properly - for whatever reason - and you are getting a small amount of oil blowing out
Its happened on cars ever since there were gaskets to replace~
Proper cleaning of surfaces and correct tightening of the bolts to the correct torque spec--- do any of that wrong and gasket can get sucked in somewhere or bulged out (done it myself more than once early in my career- oops)
cars with high vacuum (like us 20+) are more likely to have a problem
Its kind of hard to see all the edges of valve covers but try--look for trace of oil.
hopefully they wiped everything down so its clean and easy to spot
then call your tech to ask when you should bring it back in-
they will take care of it- just be nice about it- things happen- welcome to Life~
Shops really appreciate your understanding of a small issue- not the loud bitching type customer...the cool person gets the hook up
