Burned Clear Coat

I purchased my 99 TL about 5 months ago and I quickly noticed that either the dealor or the previous owner burned the clear coat while they were buffing the car. I was wondering if this is something that can be corrected by Wet Sanding the area and then applying a good glaze to it.

I've read the other post about wet sanding but they all revolve around scratch removal which is great but can the same method be applied for these burn marks.

I had my previous car (Saleen) :wow: done and it came out awesome but then again I didn't have any burn marks.

Any insight is appriciated

if they burned through, probably not

if it's just on the surface, then you can try to wetsand to remove the affected portion of the clearcoat, but more then likely from what you describe you may ned to repaint. sorry.

there are pros at www.autopia.com that may be albe to provide more insight
