Buffing swirls on NBP
I buffed my 2000 NBP today in hope to remove the swirl marks I left on there the last time I tried it (first time I'd ever done it), but I still ended up with the same problem, maybe even worse. I thought maybe it was my technique but my dad did a section and despite all of his experience with black cars, he had the same problem. He said it never happened to him before. They can only be seen in a certain angle of sunlight, but it drives me crazy. Has anyone else had this problem? By the way I am using one of those wavy foam buffing pads at 3000-3500 rpm and 3m buffing compound. I really want to avoid taking it somewhere to have it professionally done, but will do that if it's my last resort.

it all depends on the compound your are using. just because its for buffing doesnt mean it will take out swirl marks. there are different stages of buffing. sounds like the compound your using is to help cut and clean the surface. you should look for the next stage. also try lowering the speed, to the 2000-2500 range if possible. dont use the same pad to polilsh, use a new one, and clean it often
oh and these are the products id recomend using
