Broken sway bar end link

Has any one here had a sway bar end link break? Using Comptech sway bars for about 6 monthes. Car was handling poor, and there was some clunking on bumpy corners. Found one of the end links on the front sway bar was broken.

These usually aren't very hard to replace. It's reallty just a long bolt, a nut, 4 washers and a spacer.

If you've ever rebuilt a skateboard (without Gull Wing trucks anyway) then it'll be second nature to the order they get assembled.

I have all ready replaced it.

The end link on the TL is more like a steering tie rod end. Except that the socket the ball swivels in is plastic. This plastic piece broke out of its housing.

I was wondering if any one else has had this problem.

I might be wrong but when I bought bigger sway bars I of course started cornering harder and faster...and eventually broke the left rear link. This is the one loaded when making those hard right sweepers getting on freeways, you know, the on-ramps. Once replaced it hasn't done it again, but I also have not pushed it to the limits like I used to for the fun of it.

I'm suffering from a broken sway bar link. Do you know where I can find a replacement? Are there after market applications that will have a little more strenght in order to avoid this problem once I buy and install aftermarket bars?

Thanks for your help!!

Go for a complete wheel alignment too. Sometimes suspension components may also be bent out of spec. from the impact.

Thank you sir....however my post was 2 year ago.

I was being sarcastic. If only my link was still available, you'll see that my car was half way to being totalled.

Send an E-mail to hondacura world@aol.com. His name's Tim; tell him Rob from Michigan sent ya. He'll take care of you; he has excellent prices on OEM parts.

No aftermarket alternatives at this point. Good luck.

Thanks!! for the input. I'll see how fast I can get it done. I will be replacing motor mounts on 20-21 this month and it would be a perfect opp. to do a little susp. upgrade. Any suggestions on Sway Bars? (Eibach-CompTech-Neuspeed) I don't want to loose the F to R balance yet I would like to create a stiffer ride. I guess I don't want more oversteer (if any) or understeer. I like the way things are just a little less ROLL ( so my wife won't notice how fast we are turning!! )

Ynitro, standard aftermarket sway bars will always increase oversteer.

Just sharing a little story --

My friend's heavily modded Integra Type-R has 27mm front sway bar and 26mm rear sway bar. His car has power-on oversteer (let's not even get started on throttle-lift oversteer). If someone who didn't know much about cars went for a ride in it, he would swear that it was a RWD. It sends a shiver down my spine every time he dives into a corner really hard and exits with the ass end coming around.
