Brighter Gauge Needles

I have done a search and all I am finding are mods on changing the color. I have a 2nd Gen CL Type-S, but I figured I would have more luck posting in TL forum. I am converting to LED and trying to achieve the below look from 2011 Lexus LS and cannot get the needles brighter.

I know I will never get it perfect, but I owned a VW for 12 years I am really sick of the BLUE dash. Are there any mods to add LEDs/SMDs inside the needle housing? I have not busted the cluster open yet and was hoping to have a plan before opening it. If a DIY doesn't exist for this, I may attempt a write up. Thanks in advance

There really isnt a good way to add more leds to the needle housing. I had to modify mine to keep the other colors out yet add white to keep the needles red. Pics dont do it justice and i have since cleaned it up some to get rid of some of the hotspots and even out the lights better

I wonder if you could put SMDs in he gauge channels. I am new to Acura but not to modding, so I am not completely sure of the Acura mod limitations YET.

We do, but that doesnt help on getting the actual needles brighter. The space and design are somewhat limiting for the needles to get more light.

Its possible. Only way to know what works and doesnt is to try. Because i removed the green filter on the gauges and put red and blue LEDs in i had to block off that area from those lights to put white in and keep the white out of the colored area. Doing so in just that area though "may" create hot spots in the gauges unless you replace the other bulbs with LEDs.

Yeah I am working on a complete LED conversion, so every bulb in gauge cluster will be LED and if hot spots following I will add SMDs. I would like to find a way to remove all of he Green filters throughout out the cabin, ie. door controls, sunroof, VSA switches, etc.

I am about to have to buy my kiddo a whip soon so, I am trying to get mine updated first.
