Bosch Icon vs Evolution
I currently use the ICON, but notice there's an EVOLUTION line. Anyone have experience and feedback on the EVOLUTION? Evolution is a few dollars cheaper than Icon. I don't mind the extra cost in Icon but it looks awfully similar. It seems the Icon would be better fit for those in Snowy and Icey conditions. I live in the Bay Area where it's not a factor.

How are your Icons? After reading good reviews on the Icons, I decided to finally dish out the extra money for them and they were crap. Or maybe I just got a bad set... But anyways if you have a Costco membership, I would get wiper blades there. They only have 1 brand; its Michelin or Good Year or something like that. Same bracketless blade design as the Icon and only like $8 each. They work great too.

I usually run the ICONS but here in Ca the Evolutions will be fine
icons appear to have a more covered bracket to arm assembly- it keeps ice out by design
If any tahoe-reno trips in snow planned,,get the icons
clean the windshield with ordinary rubbing alchohol, then install new blades
There is so much road grunge gets stuck on and imbedded in glass,
to do it really good: Use claybar same as on the paint- picks up stuff from the micro scratches
Ever drive thru car wash ,,that sprays crummy wax on glass too that must be removed
Clean everything and the Bosch blades work like advertised:
" Only Grandma Hugs Tighter!"
wont hurt to do all the glass with the R/A and paper towels, then a rain-x type treatment- the small pack of wipe on towelettes are a good deal-
do the rear and side doors glass too, so you can see out the side mirrors~
if you never tried one of these products, it will blow your mind to see water blow off the window instead of streaking it
Good blades will operate on low or int in most cases when its applied correctly
Dont forget to clean the inside glass too- r/a will work there to remove smoke residue and plastic offgassing on front glass
Anti fog treatment same as rainx for the interior glass (non plastic tinted cars) if you like to bring a warm drink into a cold car...get the area by the outside mirrors good

Rice Patrol
^I HATED my bosch evolution they were streaky and REALLY loud!
I purchased them thinking that I'd be upgrading a lot and for a few months it did. I clean my windshields once a week with rain-x and such
I just recently got the new rain-x ones, can't think of the name but they're curved blades and costed me 17$ each? well anyways, they have the rain-x solution on the blades and have a little reservoir like thing near the attachment which I would assume has rain-x in it (not liquidy though)
these things, coupled with rain-x treatment ROCK. seriously. I can have a fully covered windshield, mud, rain, snow, anything that doesn't completely freeze over (ice) and in one or two passes it'll be completely off the glass and it'll be as clean as new

Three Wheelin'
i recommend the oem. i have tried rainx, bosch and toyota oem wipers. no experience with evolution but i have found honda's oem wipers to be the best. The piaa silicone are also a good option if you don't mind its price.

Running with the Bosch Icons myself and they kick ass. I just changed them this year after almost 3 years with my old Icons. They were starting to streak but I probably could've gotten by with them if I had to. I've never had any other wiper last me more than a year. From now on it's the Icons for any car I own.

Go with the ICONs, I have them on two of my cars. I bought an IS250 and I went in to buy new wipers for it and they were out of my size. I tried the Evolutions, they look similar and are a few bucks cheaper. They are NOT the same. Streak like crazy! Last ti e I make that mistake!

I liked the Icons when i ran them. Only problem i have ever found with any wiper is if you use Rain-X all wipers after a short time suck and streak. Rain-x wipers are good, silblades are the best i have ever used and the piaa blades are good too. With the 4 seasons i change wiper blades 2 times a year. Spring and Fall. I want new wipers for each season. Its CHEAP safety.

I replace my icons each season,,Ca summers eat the blades
Agree that rainx is a problem for blades in many cases
Too much of it is a real problem!~
I use it on the edges of front glass where blades dont get, and the side and rear glass as they have no wipers and need all the help they can get
Wont hurt to do the outside mirrors either

I've been using the rain x latitudes and they suck. The oems were the best ones, but then they downgraded them to where there is no metal piece holding it together. I'm gonna try the bosch icon, I live in jersey so I go through all the extreme seasons. Has anyone ever tried retrofitting the tsx or new tl wiper blades onto the 2nd gen tl's.
What I did before and worked great was, I waxed, clear coated, and buffed the hell out of my windows. worked well, especially for my rear window. I'm just too lazy to do that now, but I should get back to it.

I have the Michelins (ICON Rip-Offs) "Symphony" and they are Very Good! Dunno if they are Exactly the Same but they are Pretty Darn Good.
