Black trim bubbling around windows

I know this was discussed earlier but I can't find the thread. The dealer will have my car two days next week to peel the trim and repaint it all black. Has anyone had this done yet? How does it look? As good or ugly? (Or link me to the thread where this has already been discussed) Thanks!!!

I have that problem too, but it's not that bad. Just some small bubbles on the corners. Nothing I can do about it now b/c my warranty is expired.

Oh, I assumed that over time it was going to get worse so I went ahead and addressed it. What year is yours? Maybe I should just leave it then.

i had it for both front doors and had em done in the summer. looked just like before the bubbling (more like the tape was creasing for me) before it happened to my driver side again a month later and i had to bring it back to get it re-done. so far so good.

I had mine fixed last month...they replaced it with the same stuff. The dealership said they tried painting it before but it never looked good so they stoped painting them. I have seen cars with them painted before and they looked great. I guess it's based on what body shop does the work.

I had mine repaired on my '99. They were painted, and it looked great.

HOWEVER, I could swear I had a bit more wind noise after the work was done. I suppose they have to remove the rubber gasket/moulding around the window to paint it. I asked Acura, and they said I would have to deal with the body shop about the issue. Took it back to the body shop, they said they put it together the same way they took it apart.

So, in hindsight, I would not do it again.

Exclamation IT'S VYNEL TAPE!

mine is starting to slightly wrinkle in a couple of spots. usually what's underneath the tape is a crappy paint job!

how would painting over bubbles or creases help? it's like a tape. they gotta strip off the old bad trim and replace it with new trim. the dealer sublets the job out to a bodyshop to do it for a couple hours.

they don't paint over the bubbles, they peel it off and instead of putting new strip on, they paint it.
