bird crap staining the finish!!
Is there anything out there which removes acid from bird crap baked onto the finish?
I must've worked on this spot for over an hour! I can't use anything which will remove this stain!
I'm pissed!

I feel your pain. I have about four bird dropping stains on my car. One of them ate right through the paint within six hours. The bird must have ate some crazy shiat! If the droppings have been there for a long period of time, chances are they ate through the clearcoat already. There is nothing you can really do except wax it. It will not fill all of it in but some of it should be gone.

I used a product made by Turtle, I forget what it was called, maybe Bug Off, but I just got it a couple weeks ago. It worked good, even though itw as made by Turtle!!!

I have a brand new BMW 330xi that's already been acid etched, so it's just not the Acura. In fact, my TL holds up better to the stuff than the BMW. You can't remove the etch once its there. Keep a bottle of spray detail (Meguires, etc) in the trunk with a roll of paper towels and get it off as soon as you see the stuff. Keeping a good coat of wax on the car (Zaino!) will help greatly in preventing this.

Thanks for the suggestion. The funny thing is I had just waxed the car with a nice coat of Xymol (which is incredible stuff i might add) 2 weeks prior.
When I think about it, I saw it at the end of the day after leaving the office (who knows how long it had been on).
The most I could do was race over to a gas station to use the squigy and wipe it off. I soon as I got home I doused a rag with Simple Green and wiped and rubbed. I damn near took SANDPAPER to the friggen paint!
In anycase I've asked around at the local detail shop who suggested a professional buffing. (not sure I wan't to go that far for a spot stain).
A buddy of mine who's a biotech specialist told me there's ton's of toxic acids in those damn birds' crap.
I didn't know it could eat into the paint!
Take abellofi's advice....keep some chemical's and a rag handy in your trunk. You don't wan't to be stuck with a permanent spot on your finish.
Thought I'd share that with my fellow TL'rs.

Best advice is to carry seltzer water in a bottle and take it off imediately. I had this happen after I tried all those products that "buff" out the stain. Well it buffed out the pitted clear coat stain as well as the paint leaving a primmer spot.
