Better gas mileage at higher speeds?
Has anybody checked their gas mileage during every day driving and then on long trips driving, say 80-85 mph to see if the mileage is better at high speed? My GS400 got its best mileage at speeds above 80. Last year I drove from Phoenix to LA in late June (HOT) with the a/c on all the way, driving between 80 and 90 mph. My MPG? An unbelievable 26-27! I am just wondering if it will be the same in the TL-S.

I took a trip to Boston in mt'00 TL and averaged a solid 85 mph the whole way. I got 22mpg with no AC on.

Not a Blowhole
Impossible!
As an engineer, I can tell you that what you state is physically impossible. Air drag at 80 mph requires much more power than at lower speeds, requiring more fuel to provide it.
Most cars give optimum mileage between 45-50 mph at about 70 degrees fahrenheit.
