Best Wax From The Store??

I need to wash my car this weekend, and I want to get the whole Pinnacle line for my car, but right now, it's a $$ thing- So I want to get a good wax for my car NOW from the local store (Autozone, etc) and I know everyone here loves Zaino, but how about something that I can get in stores? Zymol maybe?

And also- Should I Claybar my car BEFORE or AFTER I use 3M Swirl Mark Remover?

If you have a local Harley Store, check out s100 wax. That stuff is great, and is sold for much more money under the name P21S. Stuff goes on like butter, very similar to Pinnacle. It has a shine enhancing paint cleanser(removes finer swirls), and a carnauba wax. each step can be put on and buffed off right away with no waiting, and putting it on and takingit off is a breeze.

You should clay the car and then use the Swirl Mark Remover. If your marks arent too bad, the shine enhancing paint cleaner maybe all you need.

Zymol is good. I myself use Meguirs products, and love them. I think any of the higher priced products that you find at an auto parts place will give you decent results. Stay away from the cheap stuff though...

The store Zymol is pretty good for a one step polish. Meguiar's Gold Class is also pretty good, but doesn't last very long.

I agree with Rock. I just tried this out on the wife's 99 TL and my Trooper after using Mother's for a very long time (also good). All you do with the Zymol is apply it, let it sit for a few seconds, and then buff off. Gives a great wet look and seems to last a decent amount of time.

Get the S100

if you have a local Harley store (as posted) -

hands down better than megs or mothers -

(ps21 but cheaper)

steps are like this -

wash (i use dawn for a complete detail gets rid of any old wax - grease what have you - other say just use a good car wash soap)

Clay -

wash again (to remove any residue from claying)

swirl remover

Polish or glaze (Meg's show car is really good and can be had at most places)

then seal it with the s100 (ps21)

apply by hand and wipe of (if you can afford a couple good Microfiber towels get them a very good investment - last a long time and THE best for removing wax, as well as general detailing - a damp one cleans glass like crazy (no cleaner needed) and great for interior too.

BTW if you are going to detail the interior stay away from Armor all, Son of A Gun - they are just nasty greasy crap - get Meg's gold class vinyl protectant best off the shelf you can get (and never use that armor all or what have you on your leather!! Please!! - it will destory the coating)

have fun man.

FYI

I just got in some Trade Secret wax - MAN on dark cars it is amazing - easy on - easy off and no residue - it's a little expensive...but one tub does about 50 cars - - now if I EVER get my damn paint straightened out...my car will be glowing!

another vote for s100 (like $15). If no harley around you, order it from topoftheline.com or something. May have to pay shipping, but the harley place by me is not TL parking friendly.
Clay it b4 SMR. groebuck1 layed out a nice outline there. I usually leave the car wet after the first wash and clay while wet.
