Anyone know the best tire and rim profile best suitable for TL-S in terms of performance?

Define performance:
is it skidpad pefromance
wet handling/braking performance?
all-season performance?
MPG?

I like my setup, perhaps 225/46-17 might give a tiny bit extra. I have seen comparative tests of cars that went from 15 to 16 to 17" wheel/tires, and the difference is not as much as you might think - unless one also has the skills and metrics to evaluate other changes, it is a dice game.

I went for stock wheel diameter and tires sizes to minimize handling and VSA performance, while going to a 7" width. The real deal is much lighter weight of the SSR wheels, allowing reduction in unsprung weight.

ahh, ok...that's good...
what if it's 235/45 or 235/40/17?
will it be fine for stock rims as well?

up to you. I would go with zman's setup and go for 235/45x17 Yokohama AVS all seasons on stock rims.
