Best Led Brake Light Bulbs

I finally got these LED bulbs for my car and they looking amazing. The lighting looks stock when lit, but now have that cool instant on and off lighting. Only little problem is that my Brake Lamp light in the dash is on, since led's draw a lot less current. They are a bit pricey, $30 a pair. But found them on eBay for $46 shipped for all 4.

I'd say these are the best bulbs you can get with the best lighting.

I'll take pics of the lights this afternoon, to show how they look.

Let's see some pictures of the application on the TL. Have these in the tails of our 98 Camry and I'm still not sure about it.

Edit: BTW. I purchased bulbs for the Camry identical to that, 18LED, for $12.99 a pair at a local lighting store in Atlanta. So they can be had for cheaper than $30 a pair.

Really that cheap! There might be reason why they were $12.99 a pair. Not all led's have the same brightness. I recently started seeing these bulbs on the internet. Since seeing them, I always saw the bulbs for more money than what I paid.
On the TL they look really good and real bright, not cheap looking at all. I'll have the pics up tonight, to show you all.

They're identical in brightness and design to the pictures you posted. I got them when we did the LED gauge conversion on our Camry. I can't wait to see what the TL looks like with them.

Here are the pic's as promised. Unfortunately, I couldn't take any daytime pics to show their brightness in sunlight. I'll take them tomorrow. Also have 2 videos to show how they blink.

video 1
video 2

These pics are the lights just on:

These are shots while braking:

It still creates some hotspots, but overall that's a good result.

Yeah I figured that was because none of the led's are facing back to illuminate like a normal bulb. But the lighting looks so much better in person. But I'm happy with the results.

Can you do a video with lights on, then applying brakes? I'd like to see that difference.

Sure. I was only able to make a video of them blinking by arming/disarming the alarm. I had no one to hit the brakes for me. So I put something heavy on the brake pedal so I can take the brake light pics. I'll post the video tomorrow as well.

Here are some daylight pic's, and a comparison of the regular bulbs to the led bulbs. Comparing them next to each other, the regular bulbs are brighter, since it spreads the light more evenly. All in all, the lights are visible in the daytime. And combined with the led spoiler or 3rd braker light, you'll be seen when you brake.

The following is a comparo of the regular bulbs on left and led's on right:

I was hoping for another video. I did expect them to be brighter than the regular bulbs.

I had made another video, but didn't come out right. I figured the pic's were enough to show the difference. I would of thought they would of been brighter also in the daytime. I think its because they shine towards the sides and out and not back onto the reflector like regular bulbs would. There really bright at night and I have the spoiler led's as well, so I don't mind.

No, I agree it looks great. You think there's enough light at night? If so, it's about the best LED implementation I've seen on a second gen TL. You got all 4 bulbs for $46 shipped? Where can I get that deal?

I like the tips. It probably would only cost a few bucks to get your left tip straightened out.

At night, theres plenty of light. I purchased the bulbs on eBay from this company:
Auto Direct Save

In there own website there selling them for $60, so I guess they do some deals on eBay every now and then. To me it's the closest it's gonna get for the 2nd gen TL to have LED's, unless they came out with aftermarket led taillight housing's. I'm surprised they don't make them.

I think it's the stock exhaust. From underneath it looks stock. I had posted the question on another thread but never had the chance to post the pics of them. I noticed all the TL's I've seen have the round tips, so I'm assuming the previous owner put them in.

Yeah, I'm gonna have that done, since it's also sitting a little further back as well.

They probably would work great at night, but they are sort of dim in daylight (and thats overcast). A big improvment over the earlier generations of LED bulbs, but I'm too weary to buy and get slammed from behind when its bright out or foggy. Just using our regular bulbs seems to be trouble enough, look at all the rear ender posts lately.

Type_S- thanks for being the guinnea pig on these LED's. Are you keeping them in the car?

It's cool. That's what the forum is all about. To advise what's out there, what's good, what's not and opinion's. Since I have the LED spoiler as well, I think I'll be alright. I like them anyways and I don't want $46 to go to waste either....lol.

But thanks everyone for all the comment's.
