Black roof and wheels would make it look official :rockstar:

friesm2000 10-20-2009 06:34 PM

:yum:TURBO:yum: time, with alot better traction, gonna be fun :teef:
BTW: you should do a H6 swap with a turbo on it:tongue:

abptltypes02 10-20-2009 06:44 PM

hm, never thought of a black roof... gloss or flat black vinyl ya think?

ohhhhh i want the H6 sooooo bad, that would be a endless power house lol
but yea FWD ftl lol no more torque steer, wheel hop, or the god damn VSA light blinking in my face lol

Rajca 10-20-2009 06:46 PM

good luck on the new whip. wanna run????

u sold the tl with the jdm visors and drop?

hANDYcaptd 10-20-2009 06:53 PM

Good luck with the new car1!

abptltypes02 10-20-2009 06:56 PM

hmmm well have to get up at rt 66 or summin next summer... we can run, but i wanna get my downpipe, uppipe, and tune before all that =) the stock map is garbage 250hp/250tq at the crank... blahhhh lmao

and yea the new owner got everything but the HFP's.... of course i had him pay a lil extra to keep the mods =)

im still waitin to see the the new owner of the HFP's.... hes a member on here with a black CL im anxious to see the pics lol....

i shoulda took the flash off lol it makes my boost gauge look pink

friesm2000 10-20-2009 07:00 PM

just keep the underhood temps down by venting it somehow cause those suckers get hot under the hood, like you can't even hold your hand on the air filter housing for more then like 5 seconds if you pop the hood like 5 minutes after it has been driven (but you already got an aftermarket filter though, just try other plastic pieces though)

Rajca 10-20-2009 07:04 PM

we can hit up the strip next year. ill have something special for u

abptltypes02 10-20-2009 07:09 PM

well they make a heat shield box for the intake that ill pick up eventually... id like to get a FMIC to get rid of my heatsoaking issues...

and rajca you will no doubt be spanking me (no homo) if you got the snail in at that time... esp since im trying to keep my OEM clutch for as long as possible, so i will def. not be launching it lol

if you were just spraying i think it would be a great race...

Rajca 10-20-2009 07:12 PM

no boost, but spray. i can do that. but theirs a twist. :ninja:

or get a new intake and try pull it from ouside the engine bay instead:2cents: like take out that passenger side fog, and get some ram air from there

rockstar143 10-20-2009 07:18 PM

Holy crap...hadn't you just put those wheels on? I guess it didnt' cure the boredom?! lol.
Great choice...if I had the itch to make $600 payments I'd be all over the new Sti!

abptltypes02 10-20-2009 07:20 PM

well thats the thing, the only aftermarket intake that doesnt mess with the MAF readings is the cobb (which i have) no other company offers a legit cold air for us turbo legacys... the N/A guys got them tho

lol yea the wheels were so win but it wasnt a 6mt swap lmao... i drove the 08 when i was looking at the LGT... huge ride comfort improvement from the 04-06 sti's :2cents:

Rajca 10-20-2009 07:24 PM

after a closer looks. thats one small turbo

friesm2000 10-20-2009 07:25 PM

but if you are getting it tuned you should be able to compensate for it quite easy

abptltypes02 10-20-2009 07:29 PM

true... but they cause mad turbulence around the MAF sensor.... poor design
and yea rajca its a lil roller skate lol not so good on the top end, but my low-mid range torque curve is sooo baller... when/if my stock turbo takes a shit ill put in the vf46 i believe (04-06 sti turbo)

with the reflash, downpipe, and uppipe alone ill be roughly 297awhp and 320awtq

Rajca 10-20-2009 07:31 PM

stick a big diesel turbo in their. mid to high end power up the ass

abptltypes02 10-20-2009 07:34 PM

^thanks for the laugh i needed that lmao... maybe gt35r??? lol a 20g would be money too

overextend your oil changes, the oil supply screen/filter (to the turbo) gets plugged up, and you don't get enough oil then:2cents::tongue:

holy hell you must of owned a LGT before huh? lol yea fuck that banjo bolt to hell... mines coming out next oil change, im just going to remove the filter all together

shit i was trying to let you get the "^^^lol" for putting on the big rig turbo
but anyways i am an auto tech at a independent shop and i work on quite a few subarus proably like 50% of what i work on with toyota/lexus right behind that

lol i was like how did i reply before he got his post in?? lol but yea those damn banjo bolt filters are so retarded... you would think after all the TSB's subaru is getting for blown OEM turbos due to oil starvation from that filter they would stop using them.. but nope the 2010 has it too lmao... i guess they like replacing turbos under warranty??? lol

friesm2000 10-20-2009 07:54 PM

but they figure it does more good then bad cause it keeps large particales from getting to the turbo (instead it starves), and if you can clean them on a regular basis they would do more good then bad

abptltypes02 10-20-2009 07:57 PM

its one of those things were your damned if you do damned if you dont lol... the turbo swap is about a 1 hour job tho so its no biggy if needed...

friesm2000 10-20-2009 07:59 PM

also there are not alot of turbos compared to N/A subarus especially legecy's, even wrx's aren't like dime a dozen for the impreza's
so there not really replaceing alot of turbos compared to the number of subarus sold but it is a high % of the turbos though:2cents:

abptltypes02 10-20-2009 08:01 PM

couldnt agree more... very very few legacys.... but yea turbo failures on our legacy forum is like the tranny failure on here... lol

friesm2000 10-20-2009 08:15 PM

just remember that it's all the people that have had to have the turbo replaced bitching and moaning, where you never hear from the people with the turbo's that are perfectly fine
also it's the people complaining about it cause it's a expensive part (when they had to pay), but they are also too cheap to pay for a regular oil change.

Serves them right though:2cents:

like i have rebuilt an odyssey motor at 120K cause it ran out of oil, and the oil change sticker on the windshield was 20K OVERDUE, the owner is alot better about oil changes now though (even if it is grease monkey, jiffy lube, or quick lube) after getting like 7,000 bill to repair it right:thumbsup:

abptltypes02 10-20-2009 08:25 PM

holy procrastinator batman lol 20k overdue!!!! i woulda laughed like heres the problem right there lol

friesm2000 10-20-2009 08:27 PM

also i worked on it a couple of weeks ago and the maintence light had burned out or something by 160k if that gives you an idea of how long that light was on (doen't even come on when you first turn on the ignition like it should with the bulb check)

WOW...:whyme: Would've been cheaper to get a engine from junk yard and pay for the swap...

and only reason they came in is cause it started making some really strange noises (two bores were scoured severly)(even though the oil light works just fine) and knew the engine had some serious issues
