being offered a friend's spot on the pre-order list for 350Z
Those who read my first post in this forum know I am considering a TL-S w/ NAV and I am still researching the different dealers. (I'm keeping Keyes Acura for my last visit 260 - thanks again for that suggestion).
However, a friend offered his position on the pre-order list for a 350Z. I realize it's a comepletely different kind of car... but what do you guys think from your knowledge of what Nissan is coming out with?
I will be getting married next July or August and the sedan seems more practical, but would you take advantage of the time you have before the little rugrats start coming ..... in effect requiring a family car?
Just thinking....

Get the 350Z for you and the TL-S as a "wedding gift" for your wife
I guess you have to decide. Are kids in the future? I imagine the mark ups on the Z will be substantial. Welcome to the real world , Peter.
If I were not having kids for a while and my wife had a sedan or SUV, I'd go for the Z. If you need ANY kind of utility, go fo rthe TL-S and mod it like others have done here.
If you want to talk dentistry (or cars of course) at all, fire off an email. jsldds@hotmail.com

the 350Z seems to be a really fine car, but then you never know
the trick nissan's playing now is making cars that look good on paper, but you can find all sorts of money-saving details in their new lineup of cars
it seems to have all the good stuff, brembo brakes, 6-speed, 287(?)VQ, carbon shaft, lightweight wheels and all that but my guess is that the interior will be cheap like all the other nissans, and the C&D test revealed moderate understeer, and we all know that it's not acceptable for a RWD to do that now...
oh well, that's all guessing, educated guessing though
my friend's Z is almost here, so we'll see
so you're getting married? congratulations! since one car is definately not enough, i recommand you get a sedan first and then plan to get a more personal car later, good luck!

a lot of people don't realize that the s2000 is a piece of engineering art, a lot of people magazine-race, they don't actually feel the cars, i'm sure the s2000 will out-run the 350Z on the track, but people don't care, all the hype just made everyone want to get one, but you get what you pay for, there are downsides to the 350Z

The other more practical alternative would be a G35 coupe, which, IMHO, is just as good looking as a 350Z--it's basically a 4-seater 350Z. It'll be priced at and offered the same refinements, maybe even better.
The Z was on the top of my next-to-purchase list, but when I learned about he G35 coupe, I think that would now be my first pick.
By the way, you've ever been to Pasadena Acura? They're one of the best dealerships around.
