bay area, where do you get your oil change?

hey guys i want to get the mobil1 synthetic oil, but i cant find a place where i can buy my own oil and have them change it for me.

i do not want to go to jiffy lube piece of ****.

the dealer wants like 22.00 even when i bing my own stuff in.

i have local mechanic crap shops i know. but since im korean and they basically know me, it isnt really looked apoun if you bing in your own sit and pay like 10 bucks for an oil change. dont ask this is just the way it is.

thanks

Yup. I have been changing the oil on my 02TL myself since the first day I bought it. If you want to save $22 of labor from the dealer, just go and get your hands dirty.

Cheers !!!

Shops make a living by both charging for labor and a markup on parts/fluids. Do you take your own meat to a steakhouse ;>) ?

The TL is one of the easiest car I have own to do an oil and filter change. Turn your front wheels to the right all the way. The filter is right by the right front tire. The oil filter is not too much farther away.

In Dublin, the garbage company picks up the used oil - they even provides two gallon jugs. While you are at it, buy a box of latex gloves so that you don't even have to get your hands dirty.

Bay area or not, oil changes should always be done in the car owner's garage. It's so easy and takes only 20 mins tops. Plus you have the satisfaction of knowing you did everything right.

do it yourself. it's so simple and the oil filter is like right behind the wheel.

Dig a hole in your garage to change the oil if you really love your car.... lol im just joking. The bodykit will get scraped I think if you try to use ramps. Maybe someone else here can suggest an alternative.

if i went out and bought a floor jack and jack stands and put 2 stands underneath the front 2 tires. so the car would be lifted up only in the front. will this prevent some oil to be drained? since the car is tilted?

or do i need to jack up the whole car all corners?

You just need to jack up the right front.
