Exclamation battery died...need help QUICK :-)

Hey all,
went out after lunch from work and my battery is dead. The little green eye still shows green but I get nothing but fast clicks when I turn the key over. I need to know where I can go (or what brand to get) for a replacement. I thought that Costco did installs but I was wrong. And no, I cant change it myself, I am in a suit and tie right now :-)

Thanks a bunch,
Axe

Get a jump, then take the car to AutoZone, Sears, PepBoys..... and have them check out the battery. Did you leave your lights on or something else?

Nope...just the original battery with 112k miles on it :-)
I just wasn't sure if Autozone did installs as well.

Thanks for the tip. I will call them now.

If your battery gauge is green and you didn't notice it getting weaker over a period of days (harder to start), it may very well be a coroded battery cable connection. You can try cleaning the battery terminals and reconnecting. Best of luck.

The same thing happened to me last summer. When I tried to start my car, all I got were very fast clicks and the green light on the battery was on. Once I got a new battery on my car, all's well - so like you suspected, it's the battery.

Some batteries are built with many individual inside sections which contain the individual lead plates. The green viewing eye only indicated that the electrolylize inside that particular compartment is good, whereas the rest of the compartments may be bad. So dead batteries may also have green viewing eyes.

If you have an OEM battery, there's a green indicator light on the top of the battery case.

just a quick follow up in that it defintely was the battery. I replaced it and cranked up with no problem. Like my original post, I washappy to get over 112k with the OEM!

Peace,
Axe

When I left work last Friday, my '00 TL wouldn't start. Just fast clicks. When I *finally* got that plastic cover off the battery, lo and behold, the terminals were all croded! Fortunally I got a jump. 5 min before all the auto store closed, I bolted to PepBoys. I couldn't decide if I should just clean the terminals and see how long it last, get the battery itself tested, or just get a new battery.

Since it was original battery, I think 4 years was a good run for here in Texas. But, I only have about 52k miles. Then again, I use my A/C all the time (I couldn't tell if you my windows roll down or not, lol), and rarely shutdown the nav.

So I just said chuck it, buy a new battery. Replaced it Saturday morning. 70 bucks, 7 year warranty. What's up with the $110 Energizer battery? Oh I did clean the terminals, at the car would at least start with the old battery, but it was still weak after 30min of charging.

But I heard some posts on here saying like 100k miles was normal for a starter to go bad? *grumble* Well, when that happens, is it easy to bolt off the starter? On the Integra, it's two long ass bolts, but it's not too bad. On the TL, is that it right in front of the engine (looking down with the hood up, sort of near the direction of the battery?)

axeman, your little "movie" rocks, what's it from?
