Bad tank of gas?
The TL has been running well for a while after a problem with misfires which was caused by clogged injectors, they were replaced. A couple of days ago I got gas from my usual station (Shell, Super unleaded) added a can of Techron and headed to Maine. the car began stumbling, no engine codes until the next day. P1399.
I put in some Techron and a tank of super again. the misfires diminished, and I was able to drive home with no problem. What do you think? Bad gas?

seafoam the gas 1 can to 1/2 tank
chevron stuff is good for different purpose
Seafoam will help move any moisture through and clean the injectors-rails etc and pistons and valves!
if 60kmiles or more its ready for new ngk iridium spark plugs

1399 is random misfire- right?
Have you recently had any coils off to replace spark plugs?
they are easily damaged inside
Have a parts store do a free code reading and report back here
how many miles
Have you cleaned the EGR ports?

dont run seafoam thru just any ol vac lines- use the main vac port at the TB to manifold connection area
MUST feed all the cylinders and most lines on the TL dont
master vac port is 20+ inches vac!- will suck seafoam from the can with hose an inch above fluid like a reverse tornado

Well, the car was at the garage for a few days and we were told all six injectors were replaced (three are only a year old), and that two of the injectors were plugged with an oily substance. After almost $1000.00, the garage said I should NOT run Seafoam through it and change my gas station (I use Shell super). I think there is something messing the injectors up and its not the Seafoam (I only used it twice in four years!) nor the gas...I don't know of any good garages for the TL in Fairfield County that would be able to diagnose this...any help would be greatly appreciated.

either something is living in your gas tank or you got bad gas from your station
never heard of anything like that regarding injectors
Did they give you the old parts?
might be a good idea to drain the tank and see what comes out
Seafoam wont hurt anything,,if worried stick with your chevron stuff but read the directions for max dose

After a huge amount of money and six new injectors later, I take the plenum off and find oil in it, is this right?
I think the injectors will foul again in a while...
Where is the oil coming from?
The car runs fantastic (right now), but it just came out of the shop...again, the shop said that Seafoam fouled the plugs...needless to say I don't think I will use them again!
Thanks in advance for any comments, help!

they claim seafoam fouled the plugs or the injectors?
plugs would be from not doing a good afterdrive and having high miles like 100kmiles on the plugs- that might foul them
Injectors? never heard of a single problem documented back to seafoam as cause
and Ive worked on cars for decades, ran a shop with the injector cleaning machine- that runs on guess what! seafoam
If you didnt tell them you foamed what lie would they have come up with?
Must need 6 new Coils!! and camfibrillator adjustment of the center muffler bearing
or the real problem was plugged EGR ports- yours looked pretty bad!
