Back on the road again!
Well, after 5 weeks, I am back in the seat of my TL-S! The new tranny seems fine, and let me tell you, it was a trip getting behind the wheel and pulling out of the dealership. I had forgotten how fast and powerful (esp with the mods) this car is, and how responsive it is. DAMN! I kept thinking to myself, "Wow. What a nice car."
It was also weird feeling how "low" it was. When you drive it everyday, you don't notice it. But after 5 weeks of a Cavalier, a Chevy Van, and an Olds Aurora, this thing is LOW!
The service manager was very evasive when I started to probe about the tranny problems. He steered towards the "I bet you're glad to have your car back" and "At least we got you going before Christmas" while I tried to ask about just WTF was wrong.
I told him that I was worried that it would happen again, and that I was going to request a fluid change everytime I bring it in for service. He said that was unneccassary. He did say he had 2 other TL-S's waiting for trannys, but that the "backlog" was over.
I still think there is more to this than just a "few" cars.
Anyway, they detailed it up good and are giving me a free 30,000 check-up when I get there. I am still going to ask ACURA for an extended warranty, or a least one at a discount.
I have spent almost $8,000 on modding this car with the intention of taking it AT LEAST 200,000 miles. At this rate, that would be 10 tranny's!!!!
I hope all you guys get your fluid changed and never have to go through this experience.

im sure this isn't has bad. but i popped one of my tires cause of a pothole and i had to wait till the next day to replace the tire. so i had to drive like i was driving miss daisy. so, after my new tire, and a visit to the car wash, feels damn good to drive my car whole and clean. I know its nothing compared to 5 weeks.
oblio98, i like your car man. looks clean and subtle. you got some more pics .. and some of interior?

Loving my 08 TLS!
Hey, really happy for you that you got your ride back. Hopefully, this is the last tranny that you need to replace. Just to make sure, I changed my tranny fluid when mine hit 13k miles. Good Luck!!
